I can totally see Arthur behaving this way, he is so insecure when it comes to Gwen, but I love him for it cause he loves Gwen very much. Also love the friendship between Merlin and Gwen. ( Artie tantrum )! that is funny.

Does Arthur lack so much self-esteem that he thinks Gwen will choose another man over him? Is that why he always felt jealous of Lancelot? Gwen ought to remind him that it was him who made it clear that Uther won't understand them and broke things off with her in the past and that Gwen was a single, free woman and could have chosen the other path: find Lancelot after he deserted her from the Hengist incident. She didn't which meant she may NOT have been that deep in love with Lancelot as she believed herself to be in at that epoch otherwise she would have left Camelot and gone after Lancelot! Gwen may not have understood or known what real love was back then. She would have settled for any good man who offered her love and a place in his life, and it didn't have to be Lancelot as Hengist made her feel worthless and taunted her saying nobody cares what happens to her.

Merlin and Gwen are the best of friends and there is nothing Gwen won't do to cheer him up. Can't Arthur realize that his wife needs friends too. What did Arthur expected from his wife? That she remained a wallflower and waited for him at his castle and she is only his wife to be seen and not heard? That Gwen should function only as a wife as her primary duty? Chauvinist Pig!

Gwen is not just his wife, but she is also a Queen of the people, friend of Merlin, and a sister.
