The thing that always bothered me in Castle is that it would be a defense attorney's wet dream to have Kate be involved in catching her mom's killer. ANY piece of evidence she touched, any information she found, and any arrest she made on that case could be thrown out. So her obsession with the case is actually harmful to any ending that doesn't involve her going off the rails and taking justice into her own hands.

You are a wonderful writer and a fascinating storyteller. I find myself rethinking And reading out loud some of your dialogue. The EE Cummings quotes in this story are one example of that.
