I like the way you're progressing the Sirius and Harry relationship. I don't wonder if Harry actually needs someone to act in a parental manner. I do like the way you have written this and the style you have used.

I don't understand why people like to portray Harry as someone who needs a 'proper parent'. I mean, the whole idea of the books was that a teenager is having adventures, and doing things adults can't do.

If you don't like that sort of thing, why do you like the books in the first place? And if you don't like the books - what's the point of writing fanfiction about it?

And you go on and on (and on) about Sirius wanting to be his friend, and it's so obvious that all you're trying to show is how wrong that is, and you can't wait to let him see the wrong of his ways...Ugh.

I'm really liking this story and how both Sirius and Harry are trying to figure out this new situation. Again, so many people just have it be all rainbows and roses, but it really wouldn't be. Again, keep up the good work.

Very interested to see what happens next! I think part of what made Harry so brave was the fact that he grew up without parents, so seeing his Gryffindor traits shine here made me really proud. :)

Delightful start. You've set things up wonderfully, introduced just enough melancholy that it seems to be a character in and of itself, but without turning maudlin. I know this is a genre, and one I'm not familiar with, but there doesn't seem to be even a hint of cliché in here. Well done, I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

I loved it

Great story and chapter. This is a lot more realistic than most other stories with the same setting. Sirius is very well done, I think. I'm not entirely sure about your Remus. He never seemed quite that grown up in the books as far as I remember, or ashamed of having been a Marauder.

I'm looking forward to the next chapter :)
