What a lovely mix of plotlines, and Hooper is an asset. Good use of the squid, and I enjoyed Severus' resourcefulness in the Great Hogwarts Millennium crisis.

I think Severus deserves a raise. He has certainly come through for Hogwarts. Your story is a joy and I am very glad that you archived it on Fanfiction. Rowling touched so little on staff interaction that stories with that theme are a favorite of mine. Your story with poor Snape, the youngest professor, has been a fun read so far and I'm looking forward to the rest of the story.

I read this story in between Chapters 32 and 33 of "The Snape Chronicles". Disregarding the fact that the genre of this story is drama/humour, as opposed to solely drama for "The Snape Chronicles", I felt that this story fits relatively smoothly in the middle of "The Snape Chronicles". (I actually thought that the second year of "The Middle Years" in "The Snape Chronicles" might fit better here; on the other hand, the true reason for the humour in Dr. Carmichael's story doesn't really become apparent until its conclusion, before which the story may appear relatively serious. Actually, "The Snape Chronicles" can be surprisingly humorous at various instances despite the overarching plot.) It is refreshing to read about a part of Severus's life when both he and the reader can in good conscience forget temporarily about his responsibility to Lily and his role as a Death Eater.

I enjoyed the mysteries in this story greatly. Paul Hooper is a brilliant original character, the professors sparkle and Hagrid is a wonderful all-around character.

Knowing Russian, I suspect that I laughed twice as hard as the average reader in the chapters where Semyon Romanovsky featured—it was hilarious trying to figure out which of his words were supposed to be Russian and how they were mangled before an explanation was given.

What a great read. I have not complaints except for more chapters or a proper ending.

Such a shame that you haven't updated in a long time. This is a brilliant and funny story, but it still shows that the characters are growing. I quite like what you did.

I bet she's a selkie! That would explain her being magical, her swimming sans clothing, and not knowing a thing about actual magic.

And I suspect that after dealing with Paul Hooper, Snape was *delighted* to see the Weasley twins Sort into Gryffindor.
