This is a good story, but I just have one correction.

I believe you wanted the word "accept" when Monroe was reassuring Nick about the family. "Except" is something that is an exception, something that doesn't follow a general consensus. "Accept" is when something is okay, is agreeable.

Examples:

"He was warmly accepted into the community."

"People can be funny, except when they have no sense of timing."

Loved it. And the little ones are cute. Can't wait till Nick and Monroe's kids meet Monroe's family.
