I liked the mentions of counted time in each section and I thought your writing did a good job of expressing Arthur's anguish. My heart broke for him as I read and overall, it was just a wonderful story.

This has such a cute ending! I'm with Arthur, though: Alfred being away from him is not a good thing. I really liked how you used the time at the beginning of each section.

It's a great story, really, you illustrate the worries and anguish perfectly. I can honestly sympathize with Arthur's feelings in this fic. Well, I heard that the US army is actually being considerate to the soldiers' families, but then again, government always hold secrets ;)
I love this story, and furthermore, the song 'ass back home' by Gym Class Heroes is actually one of my favourites :D
The ending is kind of hanging, and even though I like the last sentence from Arthur, ("Alfred... Just get yourself back home.") I believe that the event is kind of conflicting with the atmosphere you tried to create. Of course, it's just my opinion and I'm not good with literature :) however, I think that putting a scene where Alfred smiled, walked back towards Arthur and give him a hug instead of giving him a grin, will add the atmosphere.
Once again, this is just my opinion and I apologize if I offended you in some ways. :)

I love this story! But one of my favorite lines was "Goodbye, my children!" I can totally picture Alfred saying that to his cats.

This was so cute! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who only liked the chorus in that song.
