The plot thickens. I can understand Hotch's reaction to hearing about the little boy who died with a red toy that message at the end attached to the blond hair is ominous. I wonder if Hotch interrupted something or saw something and was attacked before he could do anything? Or maybe he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time? I also suspect from chapter one that this person is going after Hotch considering he talked about hunting the one who got away.

Just found your story and enjoying it very much. A lot to twist and turns have kept me glue to this story. Cannot wait to read more.

Just read the first three chapters. Thank God this creep didn't have Jack. But the fact that this little boy was clutching a red toy car must mean that Hotch at least was present when the child was taken or maybe even tried to stop it when he himself was injured. I wonder what the ME saw that made him call the BAU right away? And what is is the connection about the red toy car with Hotch that he can't remember? And worse of all, once Hotch is discharged, sounds like this guy is gonna come after him especially if he's the one that 'got away.' Can't wait to see what happens.
