I think this is the only fic that made me cry. It was surprising for me. I never cried while reading. You wrote Peeta so wonderfully. Some fics wrote him like a saint, too much sweetness. But you wrote him like an actual human being with morality dilemma. It's just so good. It broke my heart that he died, and for a while i fantasized that the capitol saved him but i cant think of something good that will be better for him. He just might suffer more and forced to do something that will ultimately ruin him, defeating the whole purpose of his sacrifices from the start. He cant live, not even for Katniss.

At one point I imagined that Peeta's way of the Hunger Games would avert the necessity of a war entirely. At one point I imagined that all three of them would die at the end, and that that would lead to a more peaceful course of events. It was a really nice image.
And thank you for that last chapter before the epilogue. Peeta's thoughts before he died...
This is beautifully written. It felt like there was nothing unnecessary.
What I found strange was how well Peeta could fight compared to the other tributes. Also, how well he caught on to the bigger play the way Katniss did in the books. And that he seemed to waver not at all in the face of death. But I suppose that is a sign of being one of the best of us.

Thank you for writing this piece of fanfiction. I cannot express just how much I love it. This quote especially, gets to me, "There's so much I still wanted to do. I wanted kids, and family, and someone—who chose me, me above anyone else, who made the decision that I was someone worth dedicating something to. That's not selfish, is it? I wanted so badly to be worth something, but I'll never have the chance."

I was unsatisfied till i remembered the line in which someone slashes his arm (his tracker) and realized there is a really big chance that he is alive and with the rebellion. also is really funny how people are mad at Katniss :X, they would all hate katniss is the book wasn't first person view, she is really a bitch if you aren't reading her thoughts.

that was terrible of Katniss to treat any tribute like that especially Peeta Mellark a boy she knows is didnt ask him to look out for her the best he could or even beg him to protect Prim with his life. Katniss told him regardless of the circumstances if her 12 year old sister didn't survive and by a snowballs chance he did ,not to come home or she would kill him. Best scenario Prim and Peeta outlast the others so he can kill himself.I understand she is upset ,mad at the capitol the game's but to physically accost a boy she owrs her family's life to knowing Prim stands no chance and his chances are slim and he's coming to grips with his own death,is just not fair. And coming in herself to manhandle and threaten him makes it worse because shes a tiny girl,and he has feelings or loves she would have sent Gale in to act tough I think Peeta would have been able to man up and say something back or at least not be a rag Rory could have hit home with his love for Prim making what he was going to do feel appreciated. Myself I would sacrifice and protect the most important person in the girl I loves after that display I might have lost some of my heart in if Prim jumped off the pedestal was he supposed to give nice,not fair,hope Katniss gets reaped for the quell
