Sapadu chapter 1 . 8/21/2014 So… um, quite a trip Suzaku took there, huh? And what's really startling is that, only about a quarter of the way into this fic, I started getting them mixed up, too. Like, seriously, drawn into the character of Zero having this enormous mental breakdown (and even more frightening, is how FUNCTIONAL it is. Psychosis in fiction is nothing too special, but it's often portrayed as the character withdrawn, or physically trapped in their own head, or in some way cut off from even participating in the real world. Very rare, but so much closer to the truth, is when someone is so seriously unstable and not working, but they can go about their day in such a way that nobody really realizes how bad it is…. uh, back to my original comment) to the point that I forgot that Suzaku was Zero and I started wondering if there WAS some weird Geass stuff going on that had Lelouch's specter invading Suzaku/Zero's mind and sharing the body (or, worse, sharing his mind with him. Different from Marianne's invasion of Anya, like as though Lelouch's mind was somehow melding with Suzaku's). By the time it was over, I just… wow, couldn't even remember who it was. Quality writing there… though, given how… familiar it is, I do gotta wonder, are you okay, dear? I realize this fic is OLD but, still… do you need to see a doctor or something? |
weland chapter 1 . 6/19/2014 This one is so good! Empathetic psychological examination. Beautiful. |
I-Love-Trunks1 chapter 1 . 3/20/2014 I loved this story so much! |
weland chapter 1 . 8/9/2013 This was amazing. Slightly horrifying on Suzaku's behalf, but mostly tragic. The merging of Suzaku and Lelouch was brilliantly convincing. Technically self-cest, but yet not. One of the things I like most about this series is the relationship between Suzaku and Lelouch, how they complement each other so perfectly, two sides of the same coin and now the faces have become one coin. Even down to the eyes! Absolutely smashing. |
ichiruzuka chapter 1 . 2/17/2013 I just plain love this fic. It's giving me some morbid fascination, and I totally could see this happen to Suzaku. The way you write this is just amazing, capturing Suzaku's mind in amazing manner. Totally love this. |
CaptainElf chapter 1 . 1/14/2013 This was creepy, really creepy, like Black Swan creepy, a bit of Shutter Island thrown in there too. But, I loved those movies, so I loved this too. I do feel sorry for Suzaku, but I myself am in denial of Lelouch's death - I haven't watched season 3 and I don't know if it's even out yet, but I have my own suspicions on Lelouch's death. Anyways, I liked it. Good job. |
mudkiprox chapter 1 . 11/7/2012 O.o Holy crap that was fantastic! It was a perfect blend of creepy and hot and somewhat sweet at the same time! I got chills reading the last line...I haven't been this happy with a fanfic in a long time! |
spinninground chapter 1 . 6/21/2012 I don't think I've read a fic of yours that I didn't enjoy, and this one certainly was no exception. But I do think that this is one of your strongest endings, both in concept and in your ending lines. |
Hedonistic Opportunist chapter 1 . 5/11/2012 So I'm reviewing fic again after … ages :P And this is, well, my mind state right now is 'FFFFFF what did I just read' and 'OMG more, amazing, and YES fkjkfjkjfkfjf' (Needless to say, I thought this fic was amazing, superb and very, very creative.) The 'FFF what I did I just read' is my direct response to the very complex mind-state of one Suzaku Kururugi . Oh, dear boy, just what did you get yourself into again (will you ever STOP torturing yourself?) :/? Sad to say, I could see this actually happening, it's so very plausible and IC for him. I could see him snapping over the guilt of losing – killing – Lelouch. I could see him snapping so badly that it hurts. And reading this was like a beautiful train-wreck, though – oddly – I feel happy for Suzaku here. He seems to have found some semblance of peace, even though it's in a weird state of him being Lelouch, Suzaku, Zero and nothing at all. I have certain theories … regarding the ending, namely that Lelouch was haunting him, and … it wasn't all as imaginary as the narrative tells us BUUT those might just be weird plot bunnies that I shall lay to rest :P Though I love that the ending is open-ended, and leaves room for such speculations. Overall, I thought that the quality of this fic was fantastic, really: you depicted Suzaku's state of mind very well, managed to make this fic both thought-provoking and sad and really beautiful. I loved the use of mirrors, I loved the underlying emotion (poor Nunnally ;-;), and really ask myself why, why I didn't read this before. But yes, lovely piece of work :) |
rankinhyde chapter 1 . 5/4/2012 This is a superbly written psychological drama. You managed to surpass yourself with this narrative. And I've read almost all your one-shots. Needless to say, this is the first review I wrote, and it's the latest of your work that made me cry. Poor, poor Suzaku! |
