Great story so far. Just want to mention that castiel couldn't have gotten a royal flush if arturi had the jack of spades.

Oh goodness I thought this was done but it's not and I've ruined my sleep schedule marathoning iiiiit AHHHHHHHH oh well it was really good what I read and the development of Dean and Cas' relationship is tearing at me. I want them to be together, but I get where they're both coming from, especially Dean since this is from his point of view, but it also comes off like they should be together, for better or worse, and they'll always love each other, for better or worse. I know love isn't always flowers and rainbows, and this just seems..like the other side of it, one anyway, the miserable horrible side that wants to drag you down and keep you there. I hope they..get to a better place than where they're currently at, and I hope they can be together in the future.
You're doing wonderfully with the time period and slang and descriptions too by the way. I'm not usually one for this time period but your story has sucked me in.

I love how at the end you give us facts and cultural information. I LOVE the 20s as well and I like learning about the mobsters and swanky criminals. I think the authors notes are my favorite part of the fic. Well maybe not because I am enjoying the story. :)

This may sound completely rhetorical, given that no one in the Supernatural cast would ever agree to do this, but this story needs to be made into a movie, with the actual cast of Supernatural as each character. I am so... there are no words for how truly awe inspiring this story is... I am out of breath and gasping for air at the beauty and reverence in this story. Cas’ character in this story is somewhat alike in his character in the show, beautiful inside and out, yet reserved and reticent, mysterious. Dean is… typical Dean… and the characterization of all the supporting characters...the chemistry between the two… and the way the whole story breathes family... Like I said this needs to be published into a book that I would buy and then maybe with some actors that could take one for the team could swallow whatever amount of pride they have and make a truly inspirational and life-changing movie.
You truly have a talent for writing. If you do not write and get this or any other work you've written published, then you are wasting your true calling.

Ugh this story is so beautiful. It is an exquisite kind of pain.

As much as I felt sad seeing Dean alone it seemed so much sadder seeing Dean and Cas together and being so distant as if there were this giant wall between them. I hope they can eventually forgive each other. I just don't know what to expect!

I enjoyed that Gabriel wants to break Dean's legs :D

I do enjoy when Dean talks with Benny. He's a good friend and he really grounds him. Dean is such a sad drunk guy :(

I was just like Dean thinking that Cas could not be involved! When the betrayal with Crowley was confirmed it just broke my heart! You did an absolute brilliant job weaving the canon betrayal in this. The end just destroyed me!

I really hope they can find away to forgive each other and get back together. But in this story I can understand if they cant.

oh okay here's something new that i haven't praised you on, your pacing, the pacing of the story is just perfect, it feels perfect, so far, i think your inclusion of scenes such as the one in the end of this chapter, with Dean emptying his whole flask down and saying cheers are so well placed and ah omg i just teary eyed typing that out but anyways yeah, i'm loving how everything seems to flow, keep up the good work
i did however get lost a bit in the dialogue between Guy and Dean before Dean killed him? idk i reread that scene like 20 times but i couldn't really figure out who was talking or what actually happened, not sure if anyone else commented on that but it might have just been my brain, it is pretty late...
oh and the angst, the winchester angst, god it was lovely, it hurt so much and it was great and i should go to sleep now but i want to keep on reading and i don't know what to do and damn it all, another chapter it is i guess, see you on the next one :)

Well this chapter helped a lot to understand why Lucifer would want to get rid of Dean and Sam, I was left grasping for clues on the previous chapter, but I kinda understand now, or at least, see it from Dean and Sam's perspective now, which is probably lacking something and Lucifer really does have other ulterior motives, but we'll see... ah and now we have Crowley involve in all of this and geez something tells me Dean isn't going to have it that easy after all, wow, this is going to really hurt isn't it?
but i think it's too late to get off now, i'm on this ride till the end, pretty excited to have discovered this story, it seems so plot-driven and it is extremely well-written and ah i could just kiss you, but i'll save us from the awkward and just continue reading :p
