Wonderful writing! What a sad time for them. When that arc was going on, I remember feeling so upset. But looking back on it now, I'm glad we got to see the perfect McDreamy fail at something. (It makes him more human -just like you said) We also saw Meredith stick by him and ultimately bring him back. They really are perfectly matched.
