This is so sweet and amazing! I do love how you've explored spirituality and the mind, and how this plays into two very different lives. I also love how it's not a romance-I adore Thane, but I've never romanced him and I love how he calls Shep "siha" even if you don't romance him. It implies that no matter who Shep is, they still have a large impact on his life and his sense of self. All in all, this is beautiful. Sorry about the babble.

I liked the choice of words you used for him, it seemed true enough, and I enjoyed the fact that you used some liberty and put them in a bit odd location :) And as far as meditation went... That was my favorite part of the story!
