i thank you for this rare and precious relic of a fic, it's wonderfully well written
I really enjoy how you write Dajah, a lotta people complain about her choice to run away.
But hear you show her trying things her fathers way, agreeing to the marriage an destroying her work. Before she decideds "hell nah" i ant waiting for this to self destruct, i chose life.
You show off the strategic genius side of her that a lotta fake fans ignore.
Shes constantly looking for an angel, trying to find the smart solution with mixed results.
(Her attempts to negotiate with tars, sola and john all fail at first despite her best efforts)
Her inner dialog is also extremely clever. you get the feeling she is a real person, from a real place. It gives us a great sense of lore and history. Makes her reactions more meaningful.
Her surprise at john, fear of Zodanga, grief for her soldiers and frustration at most things.
Everything feels so organic and well rounded. It improves the entire story by tenfold.
This is eat you are great have a good day good vibes and good luck with the writing remember that you are valid and beautiful kudos.

I know this was posted over 5 years ago, but I only just discovered this movie a few days ago, and after finally admitting to myself that I liked this unpopular film, I decided to read some fanfics.
I really love your writing style and the scenes you added flow well with the scenes from the film. Thank you for writing this!

What a great retelling of the mythos. I am anxiously awaiting the next chapter.

I'm curious about how he immediately knew he was in the same star system. Perhaps if she had described the planets a bit more (i.e. Jupiter's Red Spot, Saturn's rings) that would have helped. of course, this could apply to the movie too.

Very nice job showing things from her perspective.

I really like it so far except for one thing. "Tharks who would happily feast on their flesh . ." In the books, and you must have gotten some of your info from the books, using terms like 'tal' and 'xat' and 'haad', Tharks didn't eat red men. Only the Holy Therns and the high ranking First Born did. Also Issus. The Tharks saved prisoners for the games. I don't know about the other races of green men, but the Tharks definitely didn't.

I love the way you write. I've fallen in love with John Carter too and have been searching for good fic from this amazing movie. Your story is among the best that I have found. And I've looked really hard! :)

I like what you are writing, you have some skill. You have indicated a lack of interest in reading the source material. I think that is your biggest mistake. Edgar Rice Burroughs was a master of writing action and came up with some great characters and dialogue. That being said, if you don't want to spend the time to read the books, here is a link to a great summary of the books, sort of a cliff notes version. For Issus sake please read the first one. I look forward to your next missive, as your style is unique and appealing to me.

Just saw the movie for the first time today, and was disappointed at the dearth of fanfic. That said, this was an excellent read! Amusing to see things from Dejah's perspective, interesting to see what drove her, very good characterization of Matai and Sab Than, and- and this is pretty high praise from me- very well put-together in the grammatical sense. No matter how good a story is, I will not read it if it's full of errors. It's just too much headache. So, all around, I'm glad there were so few fanfics, making it easier to find this one!

Please write more this story is really great,i am loving it.I just hope you dont end it you please write some more,preferably a lot more.

Good intriguing beginning, I hope you continue writing from Dejah Thoris' point of view until/even after John Carter is whisked back to earth at the end.

Excellent addition to the movie novelization. Written from a woman's point of view. Are you going to finish this. I am hooked. The addition thoughts of my favorite character from the books and the movie are just a hint of whats to come. Keep writing and finish this, I want to know what Princess Dejah Thoris is thinking.
