Wow. That was powerful. While I dislike the usage of first person, it really /works/ here. You don't need to see anything other than what Fred is feeling, and I don't think it would've had half of it's impact if it was done in a different POV.

I do wonder how Fred knows he's going to die. It seems a little odd. But I can deal with that.

Though, I must admit that Fred/Katie is hard for me to see, but you made it very nice. It was a very enjoyable read.

"This is worth dying for." - I really, really adore the fact that this appears in here. It's something /so/ real. Because everyone that fights in a war needs to know what's worth dying for, if they would die for the cause. I'm really glad that Fred thinks it's worth it, even knowing he's going to die. It makes that sentence all that more powerful.

Overall, lovely. That's all I can think of. Lovely job! :D

This is really gorgeous. In my mind Katie is with Charlie but I love the way you explain her relationship with Fred here. I think what makes this is the fact that he knows he's going to die. It's like he wouldn't want to die any other way, but not in a morbid sense... if you know what I mean... But yea the whole "I want to have ginger Quidditch playing kids with her" paragraph is just awesome. So Fred. And then to have him say "I'll be seeing you" because he doesn't want to say goodbye to her until after she leaves is just heartbreaking. Really great job at capturing such an important moment. Love it!

Honestly, this is one of the best fanfics I've read, and now it's one of my favorites. Fred and Katie are my absolute favorite together, and this made me smile the whole time reading it-even though it was bittersweet. I hope you write more with the two of them together! Xx

This is beautiful. I really like how you portray Fred on his last day, and his interactions with Katie are wonderful. I'm not sure about him saying "ginger kids", but it's not so out there that it threw me off.
