JPsmiles chapter 1 . 3/11/2012
Great job! Loved this line:

"Another half sob escaped him, he swallowed back tears, feeling vaguely emasculated to be acting this way… But he couldn't play the game right now. He didn't have it in him. Whatever it took to pretend that all was fine had been used up in the last few days."
ffern chapter 1 . 3/10/2012
That was really beautiful. The beginning was exactly how I picture Murdock - I especially liked him talking with the French accent to the men and German accent to the women, and the difficulty arising from when they were both present. Made me giggle aloud.

And then the end was touching and sweet.
Sandilynn Petersen chapter 1 . 3/10/2012
I really enjoyed reading this. Murdock is, of course, my favorite character. This kind of fits in with the one episode where Murdock tries so hard to be normal, the one where Face has to slug him in the eye to give the appearance that Murdock crashed the plane. That episode hinted that he had to struggle with whether he was acting at being insane or if it was not an act sometimes. Interesting that acting at being insane would make him feel so free. Fewer expectations demanded of him, I suppose. I liked the portrayal of Hannibal. The dialogue between Face and Murdock and Hannibal and Murdock was so true to character. I liked the line about "weird covers a lot of territory in here." I also like the idea that at least for the present the nice nurse with the blue eyes is an ally that really cares that he gets well. It would also make sense that he would at first have a tougher time getting back behind the controls of a chopper than a plane. I really like your writing and if I haven't added you as a favorite author, I will be.
