-it would be nice if she remembered all the Slytherins trapped in the dungeons where she'd sent them, but that's probably a little too much to ask. After all, Sluggy knows better than to protest anything done to his students; he's too busy making sure his own courage is remembered, I expect.

But after all, Snape is *almost* a Gryffindor ('sometimes we Sort too soon...'), so she can allow herself to approve of him.

I'm sure her sorrow is sincere. But she's spent so much time being Dumbledore's handpuppet that I'm sure she'll get over it and consider it was only the Greater Good.

I love how you portrayed McGonagall so accurately. Even though they seemed to be rivals, as heads of house, I think they were a lot closer than they appeared. One inaccuracy- McGonagall walks down to the boathouse, where Severus died in the movie, but Kingsley brings his body up from the Shrieking Shack, where Snape died in the book. Great story!
