It was very interesting to look into the perspective of someone who was not too detached from the story, but not too involved either. Plus he treated the three with respect and not just hero worship. He was calculative, but he wasnt close minded. I like the way you wrote the story too. Great work. :)

Your outside view of the trio is insanely interesting. I never really took the time to think about what they must look like to someone who didn't spend 7 years watching the events of the second wizarding war unfold from Harry's point of view, but now that you've written it I can certainly imagine that they must look (for lack of a better word) crazy. They know each other ridiculously well and do communicate wordlessly and in riddles a lot, so it makes sense that Gawain is completely wary of them even after he's met them.

The last bit is perhaps the most powerful: "He thought of the files he'd read and the adolescents he'd spoken to, and that endless litany of Harry Ron and Hermione would have done it, someone had to do it, Harry Ron and Hermione weren't here, Harry Ron and Hermione taught me, Harry Ron and Hermione said."

Those three are leaders simply because they had the courage to do the right thing. They didn't ask for followers (save maybe the time Hermione convinced Harry to start the DA); they earned them. They're a huge inspiration to the young people who came in contact with them, and Gawain would be an idiot not to see how important that is to a government in need of rebuilding.

This is a lovely piece, as usual.

This is a really lovely story. Harry, Ron and Hermione just seem to fit so well with each other, and you do a great job showing how an outsider would deal with them. The references to other Hogwarts students were interesting, as well.

Oh, I *love* this. I'm a sucker for stories where an outsider is looking in, and this is a good one! I like the way you wrote Robards, I'd definitely be happy to read another piece with him. And every time you write something set in Godric's Hollow I fall completely in love with the idea of that house all over again.
