I've practically read all you stories but stumbled upon this one today. The world you've created within the Dash series is beautiful but this story, this story is just perfect.

so great - this is exactly the scene I'm inserting into the dash series to explain how javi and ryan discover that they've together ... although it would be great to read the scene about how they break the news about dash to everyone in the precinct (hint hint)

This was a wonderful story.

The analogy of the title was perfect especially how it began. Plus, how Rick and Kate's relationship grew in the form of the story title was perfect. In this, Rick was the leader and Kate followed.

I liked how Kate displayed publicly in front of the boys about what's going on between her and Rick. You did a wonderful job in showing how surprised Rick was that she was okay with doing that. I really enjoyed Rick saying it was none of their business when Ryan asked a question about them. That was one of the few times I've seen Rick be assertive where his relationship with Kate is concerned.

The dinner they had with Kate's dad was great. I really enjoyed that part and how at ease Rick was with Jim. On the ride back to the loft, it was good that Kate said that he had passed the test with her dad.

The scene at the loft with Alexis was good. It was nice to see that Alexis accepted Kate being with her dad. Plus, it made Kate feel good too. I really enjoyed seeing that and Alexis asking Kate to stay the night. That was huge.

Rick reading to Kate as the story closed was perfect.

Great story! Loved the progression. And loved the Kate/Alexis - this is how I imagine Alexis would handle it. No offense to Molly but I just don't see Alexis not liking Kate, like she seems to think. Would be out of character.

Was so busy w other stuff then I just got a chance to read this today. Loved it! So sweet. Even if they still don't seem to be having sex by the end if this Fic... ;-)

I loved what you had Kate do in this chapter - going "public" in front of the boys. I also loved how you admitted that she was losing the swimming metaphor a bit but then brought it back with a bang at the end there with the "wet" comment. I laughed out loud. So good.
