I am so impressed! Not only with the backstory that you've given Charles, which makes perfect sense by the way...but I have yet to be able to write a 'true drabble' and here you have written 32 of them! I bow down before the goddess! Yes, that's a little 'cheeky' but I am really impressed that you were able to put together 32 perfect 100 word drabbles and still keep the threads of Charles' backstory coherent and believable! Well Done..BRAVA! :D

This is absolutely beautiful! I'm really glad someone's written a backstory for Charles because there really aren't a lot out there and this was really great. I really like your take on his family and how he went from serving to the stage and back. You've managed to convey a lot through snippets and that's something quite challenging. Each of them says a lot about Charles, adds a piece to the puzzle that he is or maybe it's just another little piece of his broken heart.

I love how that event from his young life has influenced everything else after that, explaining why Charles is the person we know now. But mostly I adore the way Elsie slowly became a very important person in his life. Just being there for him when he needed someone like after his mother death's and slowly worming her way through his heart, letting him find it wasn't a cold heart at all. Perfect ending. A fantastic image, so sweet and so significant.

Proper review: Again, it was perfect in every part. Seeing how he had changed his life twice to run away from his feelings and how he could not flee from them. It was a very touching back story and perfectly in character for Charles. Especially in the end when he finally lets his heart rule and decides that for once in his life change is something good.
