Aww, this is sweet. I can't say Tate deserves a happy ending, but I love his character, and I'm glad they both got one.

I loved this SO MUCH! Loved the humanity of it. Not sickly sweet, not overly mopey. Perfect!

"Darkness is the absence of light."
That pretty much sums up poor Tate. I think he has the potential to be someone better but he would need Violet's shades of gray to illuminate his endless shadows. But he will always be prone to erratic violence just as Violet will always be slightly discontent no matter how good things are between them. It is who they are. A beautifully messed up pair. This is a great story because you capture that very well.

Gosh I'm so in love with this fic. I mean honestly, it's absolutely perfect. I can't even begin to accurately describe all my overwhelming emotions towards this. You have the right grip on the characters and you let them be themselves instead of fulfilling your fantasies, which not a lot of authors can do. The scene that really struck me though, was when Violet asked Tate if he was honestly sorry. To me, you kept it real. You wrote them the way they are and not some bullshit or whatever. When you write, I feel like I'm in the Murder House, as if the atmosphere from there is transferred onto your words. Your writing style is also great, and over time and more pieces, it'll be solid, brilliant and stronger. I can't wait to keep reading your stories. Keep writing lovie!

Loved that moment of protectiveness that Tate had when he thought Violet was hurt.

I feel guilty for liking Tate and Violet...actually, I kind of feel guilty for liking this show in general, but that is really besides the point.

I like vulnerable Tate and wishy-washy Violet. And a Chad cameo, because I adore him.

This was an interesting and enjoyable read, I really liked how you portrayed the chaacters.

when she disappeared and heard him scream, i had a literal visceral reaction. all of my organs lurched into my throat. and not just the usual reactionary ones like my heart and my stomach. even the indifferent stuff was like, "holy shit that's emotional!"

the whole thing is wonderful by the way. Love it.

Okay - now a review:

THIS line is gorgeous! /as she sweeps herself away into another part of the house she thinks she might have heard him scream./ - I could FEEL the agony for BOTH of them. *sobs*

I love how outraged he is at even the tiniest idea that she was hurt in any way - and then how his face returns to a neutral emptiness when he tells her the truth about his lack of remorse. I can really see him only feeling sorry for hurting HER because he loved her. No one else really mattered at all.

And chess. This is a perfect THEM scene. It doesn't always have to be tears or kisses. I love that this is SO them!

Your Chad is FABULOUS! I like when people can write him well. And I LOVE LOVE that it was Tate who disappeared that time. It felt SO significant "It's because I love you." "I know" - they just seem soo simple but perfect.

And then you break my heart again with Halloween. I don't know what it is - but crying, sobbing Tate slays me EVERY time.

And PERFECT LINE IS PERFECT!
