Very interesting start to the story. It may be an 'unlikely situation' but isn't that what fanfic is all about...setting the scene and filling the gaps the way that we would like to see them filled...LOL! Excellent start and I'm looking forward to where you may be taking them to...especially if Lady Mary can already see through them! More, Please! ;-)

I enjoyed the disinterested worry Elsie showed about her meal getting cold, you don't need to describe anything else about her feelings towards Mary, that is plenty sufficient no need for disdain and now lets see what's in store next?

Probably first time I liked Mary...for she is slightly AU - but the result is so interesting that, well, I don't care less! She has done the right question - same question a lot of us want to ask, I dare to say!

Elsie is certainly in an unlikely situation, but from the Reader's POV it is all very funny and very, very intriguing!

Not very unlikely. Their conversation is totally in character (a perfect conversation with all the interior monologue you added for Elsie, thinking about her luncheon all the time). The only unlikely thing here is that Lady Mary came downstairs to talk to Mrs Hughes and that she actually cares about other peoples feelings.

But if this leads to a very interesting and revealing story than I DON'T CARE my dear :) Go on please!

Oh... intriging begin of a new story! How long have you been in love with Mr Carson, Mrs Hughes? How we all long to ask her that... The dialogue between Elsie and Mary felt very real and I really hope the later decides that she really cant pull those two apart.

It may be the most unlikely situation on earth, but I liked it. I was really intrigued and curious to know what comes next. The characters are well represented and ... ahhh is a Chelsie fic, what else could I say!
