This is just beautiful!

I like it, a lot. And it is quite all right if that is all the story. Short but good.
When Tonks said “Remus...” (are you sure this is a good idea?) I first thought that she ment that she was too little and then there was this questioning lady and I was like 'that can't be the reason Dora said that' and then it turned out I was right and I laughed.
Thanks for that. Your stories are good, keep writing, lad.

"And then there was Lupin...guiding Callie with his kind words and quiet voice."- that was Lupin's character sumed up in one sentence. It's also interesting that your Callie is a muggle, I wonder how her mother will explain her absence at school on the days following the full moon.

How to start the day off in the right way, by reading this! Elspeth's internal struggle comes across really well; having lost her husband and fearing so much for her daughter, it would be odd if she didn't have mixed feelings when it comes to Mr Lupin. Even though it's sad to see his "wry smile" when Tonks steps in to provide reassurance.

Which makes it a neat twist when Elspeth misunderstands Tonks, and goes immediately to the werewolf problem, rather than the simple practicalities of a five year old holding a baby being the cause for concern. Great to see how this resolves a few things in her mind, and then she gets to see Remus doing what he does best: teaching a child (and an adult, too).

I hope you get inspiration for another chapter or two as this is lovely. And "Keep your elbows tucked well in" sounds like excellent advice. I don't think I'd ever fancy using the Floo travel method! :D

A support group for the little werewolves and their parents sounds like a fantastic idea and it shows what a mensch Kingsley Shacklebolt is.

I have so much sympathy for little Callie Kimball, with this for a mother.
Callie Kimball seems nicer – and seems to have more courage still – than her mother, as Teddy Lupin already realised.

Yay! So lovely to have another chapter for this, and anything in the By-a-thread universe at all! Life hasn't eaten you entirely ;P I have many other things I ought to be doing at eight o'clock in the morning, but I HAD to come and read this :)
The way Elspeth struggles with the idea of what Lupin is, and then constantly remembers Callie, is really well written - and sad, and stirring, when she decides to be brave :)

I always fantasised Remus – and his mate Mitch (similar your Matthias) to start running a Werewolf Support Centre; it is connected to a non-violent pack led by Mitch, with school, houses for families, supplies of Wolfsbane...and, in the early days, a group sorting thru all Ministry laws to find what needs to be changed, so it can be passed on to King & his team, who can then pitch it to the reformed Wizengamot.
