Truly, truly amazing writing. I had to stop many times to reread a line or a phrase that was just so perfect. You have captured so wonderfully all of the angst and joy of new love-so angsty as to create a horrible uncertainty that this not-quite relationship could founder; but so joyful and right that it simply must happen for these two lonely people.

It's a terrible shame that you haven't finished the story-esp since you promised smut-although 'smut' would have been wrong for this story. I love how this is so uniquely told from the standpoint of Hermione's internal meditations; how you've captured her insecurity, & just when insecurity is about to overwhelm her, he is always, unerringly there smoldering in desire for her.

I love how you have captured Severus so well by describing all of the meticulously rigid habits and disciplines he scrupulously practices as a way of structuring his life & keeping his emotions so unmercifully under control-how Hermione understands this, understands him, and she is able and willing to follow in this courtship dance-until she can't stand it anymore and makes a rescuing move for them both. Just love it. At least you left us in an 'ok' place-just wish there were more. So much more.
