I got the sense that this somehow wasn't real when Ed was saying such uncharacteristicly harsh things. I thought maybe it was a dream and Ed was a manifestation of her own negative thoughts. I was pretty close but it was so, so much worse.

I read it through a second time to get the whole picture and holy mackerel, I don't think there's any way you could have made this more depressing.

Great job. This is an excellent "what if" story.

OH MY GOD-OH MY GOD OHMYGODOHMYGOD. You just-I realized what had happened just a little before the doctor said Edward was dead for seven years. When they froze and were like, "Edward...?" And I was like, OH. OHH.

Oh.

I hate that last line. It's so TERRIBLE. It pulls at me and I feel terrible and I don't like it-but I love it, too. It conveys everything so well, yet hides whatever parts you want to hide until you let it out and smack the reader with it. This terrible understanding, this icy, icy feeling settled over me when I realized and when it was finally said out loud like that. I-well.

Amazing, though. This fic is written so well. SO well. I loved reading it. Keep up the good work.

This legitamately brought tears to my eyes. It takes so long to put the pieces together, and it's just SO sad... Poor everyone. This was a fantastic story, beautifully written.

Ooh, that was awesomeness along the lines of "A Beautiful Mind" and "The Sixth Sense". I read it through twice to get a grasp on the clever writing. The sneaky orchestration of Ed's lines in the conversations, making it seem natural, but having him only really ever interact with Winry, was brilliantly played out. I'll tentatively label this fic as a tear-jerker, even though that's not what I appreciate most about it.

This is an amazing bit of writing. I've seen plots similar to it before, but you executed it with grace and style and some brilliant, bittersweet prose. And I honestly didn't know it was headed there.

Oh no, this is so sad! I was kinda confused, but half way through I suddenly thought that maybe Ed was just a memory... So even though you're writing started off confusing, it still egged me on in the right direction..so great job! although I think Ed was a bit to harsh in personality...but that's my opinion.. I still think this is a wonderful bittersweet story.

When I realised that, everything started to take on a very disturbing shine. You managed to convey this foreboding feeling and you just know that this isn't gonna end well.
