True, this could fit a number of characters, but I can think of one in particular it fits best.

That was a beautiful point you made and you made it so well! Although it has no surrouding description, because it's a sililoquy, you defined the character, his feelings, and possibly just short of his actions while he says it. Sweet.

My favorite part: the way you repeated the "It's so much harder to be 'good' than 'evil' paragraph. It really drove it home.

You're right that Toei recycles its characters, because this would work equally well for Ken or Kouichi or even "Lighter Guy" in Tamers. Anyway, this is a superb story, which works because it is so restrained and so insightful. Your prose is tight and controlled and it works well as a result.

In particular, this comment is so true: "It's so much harder to be 'good' than 'evil'. When you're evil, you don't need the approval of anyone or anything. You can do whatever you want, and you simply don't care about anything besides yourself. When you're good, you have to care. And that hurts so much, so much more than anything evil you do...to see the pain and fear on the faces of the people whom you love."
