Well, this left me with tears in my eyes. So heartbreaking because we know quite a bit that Kurt is put through for just being who he is - and it hasn't gotten much better even when he gets out of that small town. *sniffle* It's lovely to read a fic about Burt doing what he can to know how to deal with something he's never expected to deal with. He was such a good dad for Kurt, man.

Well, this was such a sweet story of love, acceptance and redemption. While you started with a more playfull tone, Rachel and Kurt finding each other's friendship for the first time, you gave the second chapter a more bittersweet tone, with the reader understanding that Kurt was living the last moments with his mom. And then you showed us canonically caring Burt, who wants nothing more but do the right thing for his son. All I could say: Awwww!

This is heartbreaking.

I'm gay and genderqueer and my parents had a hard time of it.

It helped for them that before I turned gay, I was a straight ally and had been persuading them that gay was okay. So then when I turned gay and came out, they were already sort of used to the idea that gay people exist and that homosexuality is okay and all that.

They've never met anyone who is gay besides me and they don't know any other parents who are parents of gay kids... it would be nice if my parents had someone like Heram and Leroy around.

However, I'm not flamboyant at all. My genderqueerness (which is androgyny, if you didn't know) shows, but my sexuality doesn't, so I've never been picked on for that.

Anyways, great story. heartbreaking, but still.
