Squee-bunny chapter 8 . 9/14/2013 The eighth chapter! :D It's adorable that as we come back to this great scene where Terribul and Cody are chilling as family, hehe, Terribul decides to emphasize that this fishing area is a secret spot, and just for the both of them. And, of course, Cody gets dazzled by this, knowing it's been made even more special and entrusted with that knowledge. I completely understand the next part too: Cody gets crazy-excited with the 'cloud' of dragonflies that surrounds him, lol. Seems he has a certain way with nature; first the horses, now the dragonflies :P You should've put up a CUTENESS WARNING for the next part: the guys snuggle and nap, and while all this sheer adorable warmth is going on, Terribul seriously maps out ways to adopt Cody and be a family. After some internal struggle, he's convinced and best of all, these quotable gems arise: [He had a calf...a son to take care of, and one he planned on giving all of his attention to once everything has settled down.] AND ["Yeah, that's' what I'll do. I'll give it all up...just to be a perfect dad for you kid," Terribull whispered.] Awwww! That paternal commitment is rare in the real world, never mind fiction! But it's so wonderful of him to phrase it that way. And THIS is supposed to be the 'bad guy'? *Scoff* :) They head back and while cooking, Terribul tells Cody all and confesses he'd like to become his Dad. Cody's reaction is priceless and heart-warming. More snuggling occurs! *cheer* Terribul is also great at reassuring Cody that he'll still visit his Aunt (which was a very realistic tangle in the grand scheme of their family planning). But all is well! It'd be sort of perfect if they could all live that way: the Marshall marrying the Aunt and Terribul adopting and raising Cody, all in the same quaint town. And at the chapter's end, there's Cody playing with the horses and Terribul watching fondly. Perrrrfect! :) And the next chapter already contains MORE promised bonding? YAY! Can't wait! |
Squee-bunny chapter 7 . 9/14/2013 Sorry I'm reviewing 'til now. The day I actually saw the updates, I freaked because it was a 2-updates-in-one-day sort of GIFT from above! :D Really, though, I was smiling like crazy once I had my internet back and got the notices and got to reading the chapters. And now, onto the reviews... :) Oh, I LOVED Terribul's reaction to Cody's Freudian slip XD! Awww, he's actually thinking of being Cody's Dad and embracing the idea, even with the changes it would entail... It's too adorable to contemplate, him adopting Cody and living a father's life. At least he recognizes that Cody needs this kind of parental figure and he's willing to step into those shoes and genuinely give all that affection and care that the poor calf has sorely missed - YAY! Haha, they even make pancakes together and in the process, Cody lets the 'Dad' slip again and comes to find that Terribul doesn't mind and even calls him "son" back! *heart implodes* Aw, it's mutual now! Not only that, but they plan a very father/son-like fishing trip and bond away from the idea of captivity. (Good writing tactic, by the way: defining Cody as more than a prisoner by actually removing him from that location and having him spend time with Terribul as an actual child would with his father *grin*) The bonding develops, with warnings not to stray into dangerous waters (quite literally... And will that plot point be revisited later...? *sly smirk*), lessons on fishing and a nap for both pseudo-father and son. Aww, my emotions are high and everything feels fluffy, lol. IT'S ALL SO CUTE! And all the affection kills me! Now, for the next chapter... ;) |
ColorfulFandomWriter chapter 8 . 9/13/2013 OH please continue! I'm curious on what the heck happens next! |
Texasman1836 chapter 6 . 8/17/2013 I only read the first chapter because I had to take my mom to the doctor. I like how good and evil can work out and hope that he'll protect him from any more bad guys. Keep up the work. |
Texasman1836 chapter 1 . 8/15/2013 I like the story and I hope Marshal Montana comes to save him. |
Squee-bunny chapter 6 . 7/16/2013 I was so delighted when I got the update notice for this story! :D And as if it couldn't get any better, IT DID! Aw, this whole chapter spoke of sheer familial indulgence and gratifying father/son feels! :3 You're making my world fluffy and fuzzy with this sort of writing, hehe :P I don't know what part I liked best: Terribull being so comforting and going easy on Cody during the so-called 'hiding' (and getting protective when the others wanted to punish him), Terribull enjoying watching Cody play like the kid he is (and hoping to keep him a while longer), their playfulness that ends up in a blend of cold water (Terribull really is awesome when he teases Cody that way) and warm baths (I squee'd so much when Terribull actually helped bathe Cody, and Cody was feeling content, like a cat being petted), or when the bedtime ritual occurred again and Cody actually called Terribull 'Dad'! Awwwww! It's all just to adorable! Thank you so much for this chapter/update! I look forward to the next installment, as usual! :) |
Black-Kat012 chapter 6 . 7/12/2013 sweet aunt georgia brown this is too cute... please continue, its just... augh... |
