Lovely story! No harm in getting caught up in it. Its non-ending still leaves on a hopeful note from which the reader can extrapolate a HEA.

I liked this story tremendously, you were so close to finishing it that it is a shame you didn't just wrap it up. One more short chapter would have done it. Regardless I enjoyed it immensely.

Alas, I figured there wasn't enough space left for this to be complete. I'm surprised because most of the legwork is done and it could probably be wrapped up in one more chapter? Depending on how far you intended to take this. Still I had great fun reading it and I'm glad you got them mostly there. My constructive criticism is that paragraphs might be broken up more - it makes it hard to read. Also you tend to have long introspective or background explanations in the middle of the action that interrupt the flow of the scene. It works when it happens during a lull, but in the middle of a conversation it doesn't work that she would be thinking so much before she says something. But all these long paragraphs were interesting and very well written. I think you have a good grasp of the characters and the feel of wizarding world. Thanks for taking the time to write it.

Well I was concerned that I misunderstood earlier, this clears things up. You come up with the cleverest similes - "stand out like a fanged geranium in a bunch of carnations." And goodness, this whole chapter was so great, from her anxiously getting ready trying to look "effortlessly alluring", to the fact that she realizes she was as bad as Dumbledore or what she expected of him. That's something I missed oh, so now I'm feeling kind of like a jerk too.

Thinking of that last chapter and earlier I realize you have a talent for coming up with painfully awkward situations. So. Much. Cringing. Apparently I very much prefer the "energetic round of criticize and defend" we have here to awkward fancy date night.

I like your description of fashion magazines, and I think it is very Hermione to think that even as she is feeling inadequate.

I'm glad this wasn't just a shouting match, and that they talked about it - but the interruption! Ack!

I don't feel like he would be teasing her, because if anything he is ashamed. But I like how she cornered him a bit here and the others sneeking out. I can picture them in the hall debating whether they should go back in or wait longer, or arguing over who if going in first.

I thought she was going to go bang his door down, but this is much better. But still I thought we understood what happened before and now I'm confused? Or maybe she is confused? We're both confused.

I will say you pulled it off exquisitely. Seriously, I am blown away right now. This whole chapter I was glad no one saw me reading it because I keep giggling, blushing, turning away, or holding my hand over my face while reading. I must look ridiculous. The kitten comment, and his response, and all of the painful awkwardness that I was certain was going in one specific OOC direction and then totally didn't - yes I am impressed.

Bold move. I cannot believe the story is going there. I will be very impressed if you can pull this off, because it seems like a stretch to get them both on board.

I like how she is still desperate for his approval, despite being so far removed from the classroom. She is still Hermione, and probably needs it even more now that they are not in school.

Somewhere in the middle of this chapter I was surprised to remember that this is all something she's just finding out 6 years later. It's really fascinating. Also yes Hermione he is having a breakdown. And turns out Dumbledore is a jerk.
