GAH! I'm going to hate myself in the morning.

This was an interesting chapter. Not as bad as you seem to think - Quit apologizing and ask for a bloody opinion! (Was that rude? Cursing in someone else's language - even if it's the British version of mine - doesn't feel like cursing to me. It usually makes me giggle)

That was an unusual dream with Jason rebelling against Bruce's nightmare. It bit between Damian and Jason was amusing. You make it sound as though Damian will become closer to Jay than he is Dick. I suppose the two have a bit more in common than any other two people in the family, however.

Bruce likes Dirty Harry. I don't know why this amuses me, but it does. I do like the way you can have this casual affection between your ultra-macho characters without it tipping into other territory. By far, the difference between the earlier chapters and this one is quite a bit. I like this as an epilogue. It makes it feel finished whereas ending with the expectation of a future visit wasn't great because we would have never known if Jason would or if he'd just disappoint everyone again.

I liked it - Good job! Now, go be nice and write another Dick Grayson story. LOL!

"Final chapter of Forge" - Hahaha! No, it's not. :D

Finally! A good chapter with Dick for me. It's with Bruce, too. But its a little sad that Jason and Dick won't ever get along in your world. Yeah, kind of hard after the events of Battle for the Cowl, but the final conflict between Dick and Jason in it, Jason is more the angry one. Dick was still trying to save him despite him beating the crap out of Tim and shooting the Spawn. But yeah, he wasn't especially a nice guy back then.

But he and Dick did get along somewhat when Jay was Robin. Dick even presented Jason with his costume, making it official, and they did patrol together a few times. Well, don't worry about it. Too late now and it's your world. I can discuss it with you in PM or on FB. LOL!

It's 2:30 in the morning, but there is one chapter to go. I may just give it a go and sleep in tomorrow since I have that option. We'll see, shan't we?

My favorite chapter so far (that hasn't Dick in it - sorry.). I laughed several times through this one and even read some parts of it out loud.

As for critiquing, I had a tiny bit of trouble visualizing some of the fight scenes. You didn't really describe it, however, just told me what basic thing they did. I like a bit more description in order to 'see' it in my head.

That is why I like to read more than watch TV or movies. If I can see it in my head, I get to decide on 'casting' and all the nifty stuff that makes for a great movie. That will be your goal - writing it so I can see it in my mind's eye. Actually, you're doing this pretty well now already in some of your later fare, so bravo! This story has taken a long time and, in doing so, I am able see your writing improving from chapter to chapter.

Okay, so I'm just as much a liar now. I only thought I'd manage 3 reviews and already I'm up to 5 tonight. Just means I like the story. It would have been better with more Dick Grayson, but what can I say? I'm obsessed. Least it's a legal obsession. I take a certain amount of comfort in knowing this about myself. ;D

What does it say when I don't want Jason to go? I do love him as the Red Hood (more so than as Robin, but blame DC's bungling of that). He ranks 3rd as a Robin, behind Tim but before Damian the hellspawn, but 2nd out of all four boys. You know without saying who tops that list.

I like the humor you manage to insert into the story. Anytime humor can be injected- do it! I love angst and hurt/comfort, but there needs to be humor if its possible. The story, for the most part, feels a bit 'day-in-the-life-of' or 'getting to know your psychotic sibling' as far as plot goes - it meanders. But the characters are compelling so that keeps me reading. I'll finish this up before you know it.

Dang it! You made my eyes sweat . . . Not crying. Nope. But it was damned close.

And we all know you were lying about just two more chapters to finish this. ;P

Is 'funnily' a word?

Aha! Who needs the commas now? Actually, I've found it several times that you don't put a comma between dialogue and the person's name your character is addressing. And when Jason is spewing insults at Damian, you need a few commas between a few of those adjectives. ;D It was pretty funnily, listening to Jay snap at the kid inside his head . . . (Did you see what I did right there? Funnily? ~snicker~)

More hopes for a happy-ish ending . . .

You know, I worked out a scenario for my Chances series so that Jason can resume his place in society as a member of the family with his same name and everything. I only had to lightly tweak canon, and it was believable (in my opinion) and went smooth as silk. Jason was a little overwhelmed by it and shocked to find that Dick and Tim were officially adopted as well (Damian's already a Wayne) and he's suddenly got 3 brothers that he can claim. Let me know if you're interested in hearing about it.

I'm going to start this off by telling you to stop apologizing for your work. Annoying. If you aren't happy with it, put it aside for a few days or find yourself a sounding board. If you don't like it, what makes you think I will? Hm? Now, that said, onward to the rest of the chapter . . .

Curious - is there any science behind the prototype telepathic bomb? I might have chosen a concussion grenade with the belief that a double blow to two of his senses would disrupt his concentration enough to allow my hero or sidekick to disable him. (Don't mind me. My first choice is always realistic, but I'm not opposed to sci-fi for a plot device.) Also, CS gas Tear gas, correct? You might consider using the layman's term the first time out for those readers not familiar with weaponry as you are.

You know, when I started writing for Batman, I had to research what all he kept in his belt. I only knew offhand smoke bombs and batarangs at the time. Now, I've added to the array, switching out gear according to what he might need facing off with a particular foe (as long as he knows what foe it is, anyway. He always keeps antidotes to Joker venom and fear gas, however.)

Ooohhh, you have Jim in the 'know'? That's awesome! I've always wondered how he could be the terrific cop and great detective and not have figure this out. How does anyone not figure it out? In fact, there appears to be as many who know his identity as those who don't. Seriously, if I were a bad guy, I'm sorry, but I'm taking advantage of that sh*t. All's fair in so on and so forth . . .

Cool that you brought in Clark for a rescue. Wondered how Batman would manage that. Why he doesn't take advantage of that friendship more often is beyond me, but I suppose Bruce is stubborn and likes to be self-sufficient. And I'm enjoying Tim's internal voice. For some reason, only Dick and occasionally Bruce sound off to me. Bruce (in the beginning because he was so harsh) and Dick, well, I know he has a temper, and I know when it goes, there is an explosion, but I always thought he had a long fuse (except with Bruce when he was an older teen). Don't get me wrong - I have him and Jason fighting as well, but Jason is the one that usually throws the first punch.

I just might get another chapter in tonight before bed. If you have 3 reviews, then you know I managed it.

Sigh, more Damian. Your Bruce seems to deal with him well enough when they are together. Dick seems a little OOC to me considering the time period. I was under the impression they were getting along better after Bruce return from time. This seems more like their relationship after he was fired, when they weren't speaking for a while. Eh, your story, though - still hoping for a happy-ish ending where ALL the boys are getting along somewhat . . . Either that or someone dies. LOL! No happy in between for me, apparently. ;D

The beginning of the chapter, during Bruce's monologue (particularly the first couple of paragraphs) seem a little awkward to me. I needed to reread them a couple of times before I moved on. On a positive note, your writing became smoother as the chapter went on. I wonder if you were tired or distracted when you sat down to write this.

I cannot write tired. My sentences are awkward and often confusing, and my fingers become dyslexic. If I try, I end up shutting the computer down in frustration and just going to bed with the hope that the next day will be better.

Even before I read this I was so thrilled to see that you’ve updated this story. Of all your writings I love your Bruce and Jason work the best.

Absolutely excellent. Loved Daddy Bruce, Big Brother Jason and Little Brother Damian. Why not keep this going with more visits from Jason and more heart-warming interactions between him and Bruce. Tell us the tales of the “hard yards” and then let Jason finally come home.

I miss Dick . . . But it's interesting to watch these two dance around each other. Well, Tim a little more than Jason, I suppose, but I've always admired Tim's observation skills and his intuitiveness.

I cannot stand Damian. He is an arrogant, self-important, asshole. That said, I think I enjoyed his POV the most. How annoying is that? Must be the long-suffering martyr in me. That being said, speaking as the youngest child (and only girl) with three much older brothers, he gives up way too easily. LOL! I'd have died before admitting anything whether it was true or not - at least, when I was ten. My level of spite could shoot off the charts when provoked by my aggravating, overbearing, and exasperating brothers.

Okay, I've noticed this often in your writing. Dialogue can be hard to follow. Your habit of tacking on the thoughts or actions of the second person immediately behind the dialogue of the first is confusing. The conversation between Tim and Bruce especially so. I needed to go back and read through it slowly a second time to understand who was saying what. Honestly, this is probably the only gripe I've ever had concerning your writing. Anything attached to the dialogue should reflect the speaker The reader cannot read your mind, so they don't always follow what seems obvious to you. Either before or after should reflect who is speaking or whose thoughts we are following. If necessary, have them use the other's name or state who is speaking so that the reader can keep track of them, or make it a straight back and forth trade-off in dialogue - if someone gets confused, they can refer back to the last sentence with a name attached to figure it out. (Again, this is why it is important that it is obvious who is actually speaking what.)

Btw, I liked when Bruce threw Dick for a loop by asking him for a hug. LOL!

Poor Jason. Where along the way was this story written? It's like he learned nothing from raising Dick. He's a much meaner person based upon the things Jason is recounting in his memories, and this is BEFORE Jason died. No wonder Jay has it in for the golden boy. Explains a lot as well as his resentment for his 'replacement'.

Is it wrong of me to wish Bruce breaks down at some point through this? It is why I bring Dick on the edge of death so many time in my stories - just to get a rise out of Bruce Wayne. I just want them to hug and make up . . . sigh.
