Take your time, school is so important and so time consuming when you do it right. I hate to say it, because I am just as eager as the next reader but you will get to this, when you get to it. However long it takes, we will still be here. I appreciate the fact that you are not giving up.

No need to "grovel". Are you under contract to write this story? Are you getting paid?
Fanfic is a GIFT. RL should take precedence. If THAT falls apart, nothing else matters, does it?

If you've had people pestering (threatening/whining/guilting/what-have-you-ing) you to write when you need to prioritize working on things for a class, to deal with pressing family problems, work, moving, illness, social and cultural events and obligations, things like that, remember, you're giving them a GIFT. You cannot allow pressing matters in real life to lapse so that you can deal with the ephemeral pretend world. If you're having problems with some reviewers, do NOT allow the sometimes appalling behavior (that such people would NEVER show face to face) to pressure you. You aren't getting paid to do this.

Anyone who is obnoxious about it gets "unfriended" and can go write their own story.

I was actually going to stop reading before I read that you're continuing where another writer stopped. The premise is ok, nothing new there, incredibly simplistic and it doesn't even change much about Harry. He's at the Dursleys and now he's not; not exactly a terribly interesting start. Harry was grabbed after 5th year, so his maturity, power, and magical knowledge are not that great. He was dropped in this world in a heavy handed insertion where he is essentially around whole swathes of canon events that haven't been changed much and whole sections of canon dialog. Even leaving the shire didn't reveal any notable skills or much interesting about Harry beyond the canon baseline. I'm not sure there was much here to actually adopt. You might have been better off just writing your own setup rather than rely on this mediocre beginning.

I'm curious to see what you do with it though, so I'll give it a few more chapters.

Maa, don't worry, as long as you get to finish this someday... either way it was interesting, though I wish you'd put some more potential in Harry, He's older now, but that can wait.
