sfox88 chapter 1 . 12/22/2014
Aberforth is so sweet. And in a way, he's far better and stronger than Albus, because he never leaves.
Satan Abraham chapter 1 . 5/12/2012
Aw, I like this. :)

OMG.

AZZIE.

I LOVED THIS.

I don't read much Dumbledores stuff, but this was just incredible. What an amazingly insightful character sketch taken from just a small moment of interaction. I really, really loved it. Your characterization of Aberforth is superb - his jealousy of Albus, his love for Ariana. And all taking place in just a few minutes worth of 'real time'.

I adored this so much, like fuyghj.

I like your story very much! Great job!
lella7 chapter 1 . 1/26/2012
I think you've got the relationships between the Dumbledore siblings just right here. I like the affection Aberforth feels for Ariana and the way he seems to think he is the only one who cares for her, and that his impression of Albus is clouded by jealousy. Also, I like the way the mood of the story visibly lightens whilst Ariana is smiling as it really shows the closeness between her and Aberforth. Good job :)

This isn't something that I'd usually read (:P) but I found it very insightful :)
Expecting Rain chapter 1 . 1/23/2012
This is a really great study of the dynamics of Albus and Aberforth and Ariana - this makes perfect sense with canon and it makes me feel bad for poor Aberforth! I love your descriptions here oo , especially of Ariana and the fact that Aberforth is the only one who notices her lost tooth.
The Hapless Quill chapter 1 . 1/23/2012
Loved, loved, loved this! I really enjoyed your perception of all three of the siblings; you created Albus' bitter and morose personality perfectly, with the gregarious Ariana always able to lift a smile across his cheeks, but his jealous demeanour somehow diminishes it. I absolutely adored that! He is so sullen toward Albus' achievement, wanting everything for himself, and yet not wanting anything at all if he could just be a part of a normal family, like everyone else. The jealousy that Ariana was enchanted by Albus was also perfectly written! I can imagine Aberforth standing on the sidelines, not included in the gathering by his own hate.

There was one line that particularily stood out to me.

"And it hurts just a little, as he is probably the only one in the household to give a damn – watch your mouth, Aberforth, especially around your sister – about the tooth at all."

That conveys to us that Aberforth considers himself the only one who cares for Ariana, because he relies on her more than she relies on him perhaps. However, he was indeed very wrong.

Stunning, absolutely stunning. You should be very proud of yourself!
