I kept reading this story and all of it seemed so familiar. I kept telling myself that this was an old Malex fanfiction. It had characters Alex Kelly who was the singer punk rock chick and Marissa from Newport. They’re from “The O.C” from waaay back then.

I was so sure. Then in the last chapter, I read names of Marissa’s parents, Jimmy and Julie, and I knew I was right:

“ She knew she could make her life easy by just talking to the Lopez's directly and that both Jimmy and Julie would find a way to sell her the cottage but she didn't really want them to know.”

Hopefully you’re the original author of that story too. It would suck to know you stole it.

I feel that this ending was a little rushed, even when it is fitting the story.
