Greetings. It's Theodore Hawkwood from the Review Tag, Review Lounge. Long time no see, so it was quite heartening to get to read and review one of your fanfics again.

I'll be honest and say the first thing that caught my eye was your choice of title. Daffodil. I know you're referring to the flower, but I had the momentary jolt of that J. Edgar movie running through my head when I spied the title.

Nonetheless, being a big Tiva fan I was definitely curious to read further into this tale.

The first thing that springs readily to mind is Gibbs' remembrance of the titular character. Remembering having to bury both his wife and his daughter. It was something that definitely raised the feels in me for certain.

But what was especially touching was the fact that Daffodil still had work to do (as you put in your own words). Gibbs gifting the toy to Liora was heartwarming and had to have definitely meant some closure.

Not to mention the moment was another way of showing the father/daughter relationship Gibbs has with Ziva. In this case it extended to Ziva and Tony's daughter.

On an unrelated note I definitely now wonder what any fluff or one-shot of yours involving Gibbs finding out about Ziva and Tony dating would look like.

I had to laugh loudly at the references to Ziva's driving habits when Tony jibes that they may be keeping their littlest member of the Dinozzo family in the car seat till she's sixteen. And the little one's retort that she likes how her mother drives really made me smile.

I now wonder too, how Dinozzo giving his little girl a driving lesson is going to look.

I definitely smiled at Ziva's wondering who Winni-the-Pooh was. I'm certain that HAD to trigger a Saturday's watching of several such films with Ziva and Liora and Tony.

I think you did a lovely job with this story. Don't be so hard on yourself.

Hi, you wrote a lovely story. I adore stories with Gibbs, and him remembering Kelly. His thoughts sounded just right. And I can imagine Tony and Ziva asking him to be the honorary grandfather to Liora. Lucky girl! It's a possible future, and maybe the fact that you've imagined it makes it real in some universe ... regardless of what happens on screen.
Liora is a lovely name, and maybe Tony was honoring Lucille Ball in his roundabout way... Lucille is a variation of Lucia which means 'light' as well. And of course Tony likes his 'l love Lucy' quotes, LOL.
Daffodil is a perfect name for a toy dog. That has set off my synapses, I just had to delete a lot of unrelated text here *smile*. I always have had an affinity for my stuffed toys, and sometimes thinking of a toy long gone will bring back other memories too. And that is balm for the heart.

I love the name Liora...I love all Hebrew-based names in general, except for mine (Rachel), but that can't be helped, I guess. I have a slight name fetish, and I thought Liora meant "light" but I wasn't sure until you mentioned it in your story!

I really love the whimsy and magic of this piece and the DiNozzo/David spawn was adorable as was Grandpa Gibbs! Lovely and achey piece. Your Tony/Ziva conversation was so in character I could hear it! Great work :)

Liora is just too cute. This story feels so magical! In a good way! Like how Kelly and Liora both have special connection with Daffodil that the grown-ups don't understand. ;)
