Not sure if you'll see this review, seeing as the story is quite old at this moment. But it's so good, very thoroughly written. Honestly I wasn't expecting the suspect at all. I think you've written Casey well, I could imagine that's how she'd react to such a situation

Very goood fic, and alarmingly accurate. The fictional verdict (Not guilty) and your acknowledgements were what got me (and to me) though.

Spot on with the characters and so sad. Your comment at the end speaks volumns. For those that can't bear to come forward I would also urge that you speak to someone. These are life changing events. And you can take that life back.

It was realistic and really tugged on the ol' heart strings. Casey was spot on. You managed to capture her character perfectly.

I agree, to many get off with a slap on the wrist, or they make the victim look like she was asking for it, or setting them up. I thought you did really well with this. I think also 1 in 3 is about right, it's every 2 minutes a woman is attacked. so yeah even if not reported I am thinking your just about right on. he saddest thing about this country, is your raped and you end up being the one on trial. were you wearing underwear that night? and such, so I can totally see him saying she was setting his client up.

Also your right about not any reporting it for fear or what not. But also know some who never did because they knew it wouldn't make a difference, person wouldn't get what they deserved. Anyways great one shot.

Yeah, it is scary to think about how often women are raped. And not only that, men who are raped are even less likely to report it because they face so much ridicule. That SVU ep, appropriately titled Ridicule, was pretty much dead-on with what men face even from cops who are supposed to care about the victims. Even people who speak against rape sometimes outright mock men who say they were raped. Society needs to learn to treat all rape victims with kindness and compassion and not to ridicule or blame the victims.

It ends up being that there is a huge chance that someone you know has been hurt that way, and it's just... Ugh. People can be awful :'(
