This story is made me cry! I loved how you wrote Jade with such agony and the fact you made her the only one when knew Lian's real birthday. Very touching and this story pangs my heart whenever I reread it. It's just so beautifully written, you really nailed it! I'll seriously continue to think about this story.

Though it has been a year since I have watched YJ I quite distinctly remember that they are married and Jade calling Roy her husband.
Could be wrong but make more of Roy and Jade!

Oh this is a lovely fic. So sad. Much more like the comics. I love CheshRoy and Lian! I'm glad in YJ they get to be a little family, but obviously with Jade in the Shadows it doesn't make too much sense. I love your stories!

This was-. *sigh* Okay, Dicey let me fucking tell you how amazing you are at writing Jade. She's so-you make her sound so complex and more than just an assassin. You make her /real/ and I love that.

The bracketed parts were amazing. For me, the way you made Jade and the bracketed sections made the story for me.

The letter to Roy made me crey, because OH MY GOD. ODLSKHGKLDJG It was beautiful.

I also can't get over how you can convey so much emotion in this. Everything from her spying on Paula and Artemis to Lawrence's little cameo, to Jade spending time with baby Lian-it's brilliant.

AND OH GOD, The birthday thing? That broke my fucking heart. Because she would do that, and she would-. Roy would

Okay, that line was amazing. It broke my heart. Because to me. Jade basically gave Lian up for adoption, and it's like a kid going out and searching for their birth parents, but Lian wouldn't do that because she's /got/ a good, solid family. She's got amazing friends- (I assume she joins the Teen Titans with like, Damian, Irey and Jai, maybe? I dunno) and technically, she's got a mom. She has Donna, and to her thats all she needs. Why go looking for someone weho gave you up when you I dunno, I'm probably confusing you and thinking things that you don't even agree with or ever plan to touch on, but God.

I love how you make Jade convince herself that her and Roy's relationship is purely sexual (because it isn't really, not how I see it anyway). I also love this line: /It doesn't escape Jade that she's always the one that leaves, but she doesn't know what she'd do if she would stay/ - that line pretty much sums Jade in a nutshell - YJ Jade AND DC comic Jade.

(and the bracketed regions throughout the story is perfect - see what I did there?)

And her becoming a tourist; I kinda love that idea.

AND THE LETTER - OH GOD THE LETTER. WAY TO MAKE ME TEAR UP DICEY. God, you can just sense Jade's confliction and the mask she wears fade away. /You and Artemis; I just can't seem to stay away from archers/ - ;~;

And the fact that she didn't send it - D,:

I can't believe that the idea that Jade might have considered abortion never crossed my mind before. Because I mean, it's in her assassinating nature to just abort the baby. And the creepiness of the color white is brilliant (and also the mention about red).

The fact that she visits her apartment, but doesn't Artemis or Paula is great - and heartbreaking. And I like the lingering envy Jade feels towards Artemis - even though it's only mentioned in the brackets, I can read it laced between the normal text. And alos - I love Jade's hope for Artemis - /Artemis is the one that will change things. Artemis is the one that will help people. Artemis is the one whose name will be remember in the history books./ - Perfect.

I wasn't expecting the part with Sportsmaster to pop up, but it was done perfectly. In fact, it's my favorite part. I love how you went with my idea from Knight and /actually/ made him /fatherly/. I love how he tries to give her advice, and the way she tries to convince herself that she hates him. (and that memory of him waking her and Artemis and making them pancakes? Can I just sob?)

(And I also love how he points out that she always leaves a trail to - because that seems really Jade to me)
