Why can't both Mary and Elizabeth be legitimized?
Personally, I've always considered both of them princesses.

While I do agree with the Catholic faction that Catherine of Aragon was Henry's true and lawful wife (see Deuteronomy 25:5), and Mary the true Princess of Wales, I also believe that Henry truly believed at the time of his Great Matter (16th-Century people were notoriously superstitious) that his and Catherine's marriage was cursed by God, and while I don't know how the actual divorce proceedings went, I do think that both Henry and Anne believed that they were, at the very least, thorough enough for his remarriage to Anne to be legally recognized as valid... and even if they were wrong, which I very much doubt, Henry could just use the "Good Faith" clause to legitimize Elizabeth.

I never liked Jane because it was the cause of a girl being left without her mother and abandoned by a father who did not know how to value what he had with an Anne.
