WOW chapter 1 . 10/29/2019
I learned that this is longer than Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. WOW! If you make your own characters and PUBLISH a book this long I will be one of the first ones to read it because you have TALENT. EEEEEEEeeeeEEeee
MyOtherRideisaMasterCycleZero chapter 28 . 7/29/2019
Okay, I'm finished, so you can come out of hiatus now! XD #kiddingnotkidding

I LOVE this story. So much plot - complete with twists, turns, and shocks! Amazing character development.. as I mentioned before, I love this Ghirahim - he's not inherently evil, but still fabulously sassy and loves a good fight. But I love his passion - he is completely dedicated to his people and their cause, even at the expense of his own personal feelings. :/ I do hope something will still come of his relationship with Link. They both deserve some happiness. :)

I love the sprinkles of humour you've thrown in throughout, as well. The almost slapstick comedy between some of the demons, the dry jokes, the surface disorientation effects are gold, and of course Ghirahim's occasional, almost childlike antics (him waving from the mine cart had me giggling uncontrollably for some reason!)

I love how you tied in the Arthurian legend! Nice job! And Fi's story is so intriguing. I've never been her biggest fan, but she's interesting in this story.

I hope you find the inspiration to come back and finish this someday! A gem like this is hard to come by in fanfic, and it would be a shame to never see it finished. BUT, done right is better than done fast, so take all the time you need.

Holy. Frickin. Crap. That was the best chapter yet! I don't even know where to begin! This story just got SO much bigger! But, I suspect, that may have been your goal all along!

Why is it oh-so-sexy when Ghirahim purrs?
MyOtherRideisaMasterCycleZero chapter 9 . 7/23/2019
Heeheehee that was a delightful take on the Skyview Temple battle! XD
MyOtherRideisaMasterCycleZero chapter 6 . 7/23/2019
I thought I reviewed yesterday after chapter 3(?), but it's not showing up. I apologise if this duplicates.

So you totally have my attention with this story! I love this slight AU and your OCs are very interesting so far. I love this Ghirahim - fabulously sassy and bloodlusty (as he should be!), but honest and truthful and conscious of others' needs and concerns. And wth - a fourth Triforce piece? A Quadforce!? Interesting indeed!

I can't wait to see where this goes. I'm sad it's not complete, but hoping you aren't gone forever. Hitting the follow button just in case!
MyOtherRideisaMasterCycleZero chapter 2 . 7/22/2019
Okay, you have my attention!

Ghirahim origin stories seem so few and far between, and I always love a good AU (even if it's just a slight AU). Mute Link always bugs me though... hoping he finds his voice at some point...

I know it's incomplete (boo), but I can't wait to read the rest.
Mari chapter 28 . 1/16/2019
Guest, your observations are spot on, and very interesting. I'm a fan of the Sheikah, but they are being very racist and unreasonable in this fic. I'd love the reveal that Fledge is part demon.

The simplistic good and evil depiction in Zelda has always been one of its greatest weaknesses, and the exploration of demons as a race is very refreshing.
Mari chapter 28 . 1/16/2019
This like if Zelda and Undertale had a baby.
Guest chapter 28 . 11/5/2018
So the dragons dislike Sheikahs as well... So obviously the sheikahs are not entirely innocent.

Sounds like they are racist- just because Demise turned out to be evil, they assumed ALL Demons are evil, and hate Fi because she once served alongside tbe demons who, at the time lived peacefully on the surface and were good.

Wonder how highly they would think of the Chosen Hero if they found out he stuck his tongue in the Demon Lord's mouth and cuddled with him to sleep? They'd probably turn their backs on him- their loyalty seems quite fickle and misguided.

Still, I can't help but think that at one time both Demise and Terrin had to have some qualities of good about them to be recorded so favorably in what little Skyloftian history that remains.

I'm also guessing that Fledge'd family heirloom that he had Peatrice store once belonged to a Knight of the Round Table... Which would make Fleedge, however distancely related, part demon. And yet, he lives in Skyloft, he had no bloodlust nor intrest in battle. He is a peaceful, friendly boy- who even helped Link- Hylia's chosen hero, by giving him a pouch to aid him on Link's journey to help and defend Zelda.

That would mean the Sheikah are wrong- and that the demons are no threat to them or anyone else who dwells peacefully on tbe surface.

I can't help but wonder... Did Eldren truly go to that realm to face Demise in a duel... Or did he go there to try to reason with the Demon King, call a truce, make him see that the war was hurting both sides? Perhaps Eldren's solution had not been to try to kill Demise, but to try and convince him that peace was the better option- just as Link wishes to do?

But Demise was blinded by greed.

All Ghirahim wants is for his people to be able to live in the sunlight where they belong.

Ghirahim seems willing to negotiate and to consent to the terms and laws already set in place by the surface dwellers.

It is only the sheikah who have been stubborn and closed minded- they are the ones to blame for all the current violence, not the demons.
Granite, a peaceful Goron was more afraid of facing the sheikah than the lower realms filled with demons. And Farore- ally to Hylia, created by the three golden goddesses, tasked with protecting the forest and the peaceful creatures who dwell there- also dislikes the Sheikah. That is suspicious. Perhaps it is the Sheikah who are truly cruel and barbaric enough to conquer and enslave those they deem inferior to themselves? Otherwise why would all the peaceful creatures of the surface have such low opinions of the sheikah?

My guess is that with the demons and Hylians gone, the sheikah goy too big for their britches- probably decided they were superior to all the other creatures in the land, gloated about heir connection to the goddess and used that as justification to pillage the land of it's resources for their own selfish benefit- they grew in population and technology, mined the land for ore and then built servants to do it for them when they got lazy- no doubt the thunder dragon did not care for the sheikah's inconsiderate strip mining of the earth.
They probably hacked away at the forest to make room for their own farms and growing villages without any thought at how that would affect the other creatures- and with their growing technology came polution- such as oil used to lubricate their robot slaves that probsbly leaked and tainted the soil and water-
But they probably felt no remorse, after all they were the ones who Hylia felt strongest to remain on the surface- so that gave them every right to do as they pleased.

I'm guessing the dragons decided that the arrigant and selfish sheikah needed to be taken down a notch, and that is why the old mining facilities are in ruins and why the Sheikah do not still posess the technology they once had- which is why they dislike the divine dragons.

If anyone should be punished, it should be the sheikah dogs.
Guest chapter 27 . 11/5/2018
Playing dress-up with Ghirahim...poor Orynx!

You mean the dragon that the ungrateful shiekah's despise?

I wonder if Ferrik would actually be able to weild the sword even if he found his magic- power and courage he has plenty of... But what about wisdom? Ferrik is... Well, he's an over-enthusiastic newbie fanboy with a lot to learn- I think he just wants to wrap his hands around Ghirahim's "hilt" if you know what I mean.

I'm guessing that same issue is why Wise believes he canno't weild the unbreakable sword- he is certainly very wise and powerful- but I have a feeling what he lacks is an abundance of courage.

I hope Trelan's niece is a small child- not because I want a kid to be ill, but because I think seeing a demon child would help put things into perspective- all Zelda and the sheikah have seen are terrifying soldiers. It's easy to not feel any sympathy for an enemy you see only as monsterous killing machines.

But it's harder to think of locking people away in the dark with the undead if you also imagine mother's, grandparents, and tiny children who just want to frolic and play in the sun. Not all demons are warriors- there has to be shopkeepers, clothing makers, healers, food gatherers, a whole variety of peaceful non violent ocvupations to keep an infrastructure working. There has to be newly weds, and expectant mothers heavy with child, doting grandmothers who tell bedtime stories to their grandchildren, and fathers who come home weary after a long day at work keeping the re-dead at bay so that their children can sleep safely.
Until Zelda can recognize the suffering of Ghirahim's people as that- as PEOPLE, not just "demons", she has no right to call herself a Goddess.
Guest chapter 26 . 11/5/2018
Crap, so this new guy probably doesn't know that Thressan isn't actually dead- and Link doesn't know that Thressan is considered evil even amongst demons.
The goddess memories have been restored... And Ghirahim's first priority is a bath? Oi, his vanity will be the end of him!
Guest chapter 25 . 11/5/2018
A version of the truth...
The truth is different from fact. Truth can be influenced by opinion, perception, point of view, even cultural influences abd state of mind.
Just as Sirin was speaking the truth when he told Ghirahim that he loved him. That was true- but his definition of love and Ghirahim's were quite different, but that did not make his declaration of love any less true.
Just as when Zelda said she was not hylia- she had not beem lying because she truly believed that she was only Zelda at the time.

Just as love can have different meanings, all of which are valid and true. So can a curse.

A curse can be a magic spell, it can be an obscene word that should not be spoken in civil conversation, it can be a promise of ill will, or a spoken wish for misfortune on another.

Perhaps by curse, what demise MEANT was that he had given orders to his people to seek revenge against Hylia. Much like a religious itola- a religious leader who makes a declaration that all true followers of that faith are sworn to uphold, and only he can lift- but upon his death, if he had not lifted it, becomes law. This is not a binding magic, but a promise that those loyal to him and his memory choose to follow.
But if he had said curse and not specified it's meaning, Hylia may have misinterpreted it to be an actual spell.

I hope Zelda doesn't let her past memories influence her decision and make her lock up poor children with zombies.

Ghirahim has been polite, reasonable, and true to his word- he has never harmed Zelda, always been polite and made sure she had food and water, and has been working hard to negotiate peace with the surface dwellers in order to share the land. The only ones causing any trouble are the sheikah. If not for them, there would be no bloodshed at all.

Was Eldren very tall? Everyone keeps commenting on Link's height, or rather lack thereof.

While demise was no saint, it still seems that Hylia is equally ruthless and ignorant.
