How selfless of Harvey to reach out to Trevor. And I kind of loved Trevor's side of the conversation. The way he reacts to getting Harvey's call in the first place, down to his reaction to Harvey's question about the guy. Really good stuff. I'm so sad this is over, and I don't think you ever ended up posting the sequel on ffnet, if it's somewhere else on the interweb I hope I can find it someday.

This actually may not be the same prompt as the one I mentioned earlier, but very similar, either way, loved this from top to bottom, start to finish. Really excellent job, though I'm not surprised. CuppaChar's version of this prompt had a similar version of Trevor. I like it, makes sense and fits the characterization we saw on the show. Mike's indebtedness to Trevor that seems to go beyond just 'for old time's sake'.

There it is. Why the pot? I love when people delve into this...why would a kid as smart as Mike, with a genius brain, start smoking pot. THis is a great answer.

TOS Star Trek is like comfort food in television form. I'm glad Harvey noticed another nightmare starting and was able to soothe Mike. I don't think the Police would have believed them if it happened a second time.

Also just...I love how you are conveying that Harvey is out of his depth but is just as willing to man up and do what needs to be done as he expects from Mike. And I love that he is holding Mike physically because he can't think of any other way.

Ok, this is the first I've been able to stop reading long enough to say anything, Poor poor Mike. But I love the idea of Big Brother Harvey reacting without his brain's consent. Some things, as you said previously, you just don't forget.

I'm at work right now and the brief two to three minute breaks I have to take from reading in order to look like I'm working is literally torture.

Have you ever been so into a book that you're eyes skip ahead because you can't wait to see what happens and you're not really reading just skimming words and too excited? THat's what I'm doing right now. I had to stop and write this so I could calm down enough to read normally.

Harvey is running after Mike down the hall and I'm doing it again! I don't want to spoil it for myself! - also...who knew Mike was so scrappy!? *raises hand* I did. I am feeling weirdly proud that Mike is giving Harvey such a run for his money...but then again, being scared out of your mind does that. Poor Mikey.

Harvey breathed out a relieved huff and pulled the kid in for a hug - if ever a moment of weakness and caring and a hug was earned, and the absolute completely correct and understandable reaction, it is this moment.

"Some things you never forget how to do" - Oh, I'm sorry, was I not already a bawling mess? Excuse me while the puddle you have reduced me to now runs off my chair and onto the floor.

Uhhh...HELL YES we're going to talk about it either way! You've given me the hurt, by god you are going to give me the comfort to go along with it!

Harvey waking up disoriented and then grabbing a bat. Way to start on a dangerously sexy note and just jumping RIGHT into it .

I am loving the way you're writing this. Harvey doesn't jump straight to "hey, kid, you're alright, I'm right here." - which, although I love it, doesn't really fit the character. What you've done here is much more appropriate, Harvey taking in whats happening, seriously toying with the idea of calling someone else to come deal with it, and then just freaking out because Mike might actually be *dead*.

Ok, Harvey is trying to wake him up...but is Mike awake...I'm thinking he's still in his nightmare/flashback. HOLY WHAT THE...I guess he's still asleep! - No joke, Mike's sudden scream on seeing Harvey actually startled me. Like...I'm reading, what I'm reading is silent, but I actually had a physically startled reaction to that moment.

Ohmygodohmygodohmygod Night Terror!Mike is trying to murder Harvey.

"because that sound should not be coming from this person" - Oh my gosh Harvey cares SO MUCH.

I have this thing I like to do for really good authors, and that's take notes while I'm reading, so thats what I'm doing. I think I've read responses to this prompt before (CuppaChar, who broke my heart by leaving her version unfinished) and Pheonix on Cloud Nine, who is just brilliant. But I am honestly SO stoked to read your version since I know how talented you are and how realistic and delicately you write.

"Rookie." I'm...I'm not going to make it through this without tears am I? - also that reminded me of Mike's pink baseball cap with 'rookie' on it which I forgot to comment on in my review but was literally the sweetest thing I've ever seen and made me 'awww' all over myself.
