I cried so hard when he 'died' in the movie and I've decided to write my own Nicholls/OFC fic! XD

I loved this fic. I just saw War Horse today, and it was amazing! And of course one of my favorite characters in the movie was Captain James Nicholls (a.k.a. Tom Hiddleston, a.k.a. utter hottness). ) Very nice work!

I love it, and I also love that you actually know about the song Letters From War. I love that song, and I think it fits well. Great job, I loved Nicholls, and cried when he died. This was my theory also, sorta. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

This was fantastic. I'm so happy! I don't know about the others, but I think that this was one of the saddest parts in the movie. I'm glad to have found this happy little fanfiction. I'm also really happy that you decided to let him live -good choice, that. This was a really enjoyable read. Great story!

Yay he's alive! When my friends and I saw it at the movies a friend kept insisting that he MIGHT be alive as we never saw a body and he MIGHT have just been wounded or taken prisoner, even after the letter confirmed he died. I'll have to direct her to this, and shell probably insist it's canon. Very sweet little ficlet, though I do kind of agree that maybe it would have been a tad more emotional if he had actually died as that scene was one of the best bits of the film and your kind of undoing it, though I like this as a sort of What If?/Wishful thinking strory. Maybe you could keep this story up and add your edited version in addition? It's up to you though, creators discretion. You also captured well what it's like to be in Georgies situation. My great grandmothers first husband died in WW1 my grandfather said she absolutely hated all the pity and attention. She ended up a very determined and bull headed person and stuck around until 101, living in the same house by herself with my grandparent living next door and, bar a broken ankle, was never sick a day in her life.

Was Georgies name a reference to Hiddlestons hair? I can remember a Thor interview where he commented that he looked like Gene Wilder. Also another interesting bit is that Mark Schultz has a book that accompanies Letters from War and you can find it on iTunes. It made me cry a bit
