Vincent didn't want to kill? Didn't want to take a life? Didn't he ALREADY kill both of kin's teammates? With that chaos hammer thing?

I think it's kinda funny, that so many people on here, take to dumbing down naruto's powers from what they originally want, for WHATEVER reason, then right afterwards the story USUALLY STOPS (this story being NO EXCEPTION) look we all know he's gonna be able to rip apart everyone by the end of it (it's what ALWAYS HAPPENS, IN ALL ANIME!) So if it gets a kick in the behind to jump-start it? Well, so what? Then it just happens at a faster pace! It's better then using the "power yo-yo" or dumbing down his powers and then losing focus on the story and terminating it! You'd be AMAZED at the sheer NUMBER of stories that just STOP at the exams. Simply because authors didn't want naruto TOO powerful but when they hit him with a nerf bat, they lost interest! My advice is NEVER, EVER dumb it down! If he's too powerful? Then he chooses not to use his full power, why? Why not? It lets the author pull powers out of complete "thin air" (much like what happens in canon) It especially applies in stories like this one where he's backed by a "deity"(of sorts).

And again in this story, "above the kage booth', you know it's actually terrifying that NO FF author, nor the canon author ever thought to have the characters think, "why not just collapse the roof EVERYONE is STANDING ON?!".. Seems like a "slap the forehead" idea in it's simplicity, I mean the four CANNOT hold the barrier if they are suddenly in FREE-FALL! But NOBODY thinks of it! (again, it makes me question the level of competence of the characters in the leaf all together!)

Still say hinata is a better "fit" for naruto, since he is the last actual "royalty" in konoha, with his background. Not some c-grade "red shirt" extra... But whatever... Your story.
It's also weird is how he goes from really confident to self-pitying as quickly and as often as a dying light bulb flickers!

How is kin "rightly angry" about getting her arm blown off? She ATTACKED HIM! Her team was sent to KILL HIM! Again, she's got no right to complain! She COULD be dead! I think naruto/vincent is taking this ENTIRELY the wrong way, because it's SHE THAT WAS IN THE WRONG, he shouldn't feel an OUNCE of guilt! (I wouldn't in his place) She should be just thankful he didn't kill her (like her teammates), imprison her, or have her executed! (I think you have a seriously screwed up way of looking at her and her situation!)

Good for the "emotional" rate of the story, but it really, really hurts the "longevity" of the story, if naruto is treated like that? What is his reason to help them? You have to take that into account... With no bonds (except the hyuuga which ALSO was abused, *again easily proven* which makes me scratch my head more) there really is none, so this is a REALLY bad idea!

ALL gennin should be pretty much EASY mulch, so NOT A GREAT chapter.

You know I dislike "dumb naruto" stories.. Not really because I like naruto, but because EVERYBODY'S "secrets" in the naruto-verse are REALLY EASY to figure out... I mean seriously, the "geniuses" have maybe low-average intelligence... Everyone else I'm pretty sure injure themselves when they try to get dressed in the morning! The third is PROBABLY the worst.. He seems like an old man that has alzehemier's disease.. KNOWS he has it, and that he is slowly SLIPPING away, yet still thinks his "old buddies" who are not even this century can help him. He should know it's time to kick them out! And still SOMEHOW thinks he's acting in the "village's" best interest, when we are WAY past that. He should KNOW he's losing his marbles.. And know so are his advisors... And take "steps".

Rock Lee, nearly KILLS himself to get what? Rank of "teacher's assistant"? That seems rather UNDERWHELMING! It's just NOT ENOUGH to me think the exams are a LOAD OF HORSE-CRAP! Drop out!

Someone has to fight twice? Um no, to make CHUNIN? That's idiotic... Irukia and mizuki are chunnin, and Mizuki lost to someone that was an academy student... Sorry but my problems with the chunnin exams is the stakes AREN'T HIGH ENOUGH! For a bijuu, a sanmin and chunin/jounin level ninja in it, the rewards AREN'T ENOUGH... It's a waste of time.

Actually hinata is kinda the mt. Everest. I mean, her clan and being the heiress is kinda the top of the "food chain" socially speaking.. Eventually get her? Even if you have to "step" on a few in your climb (sakura, ino)... You still get to the most prestigious clan, when the clan head puts pressure on the hokage (because doing so on naruto is redundant, he can kill them all and not break a sweat), then his TRUE name comes out (uzumaki royalty, namikaze).. THEN he has access to all the "halls of power" he could want... what happens to the girls, well that's up to him. Kin's just kinda a "broken flunkie, from a failed invasion, by a failed student, that doesn't get you anywhere). Hinata though instead of throwing away, is a pretty good sycophant! Hidden but BEYOND loyal!

I still say hinata is a better fit, she has no other ties, OTHER then naruto... Possibly sakura (the fangirl thing past 12-13 years old is a total ff construction), Ino is a maybe... After all she gets with sai.. How screwed up is that? He has NO EMOTION whatsoever, and has been "mind-raped" since being a child... That's just wrong, he deserves just to go "out" with a bang.. Not linger... Kin? Appeared in ONE episode of the original series.. NEVER again.. and now she's only half a ninja.. That seems more of a "pity screw" then lasting. Or "bottom bitch" because she's low hanging fruit for naruto to convert as a first disciple. He's wanting to climb into "world reaching"(status) and give LOADS of entertainment(to blood) right? Then that's the hyuuga... Sakura maybe but that seems more "cutting old ties" and making his new self NOT naruto. (showing it to both him and the village).

Feeling guilt about kin makes NO SENSE! Weren't they enemies? So, um why would he feel guilty? Because he didn't kill her? That can still be fixed! He shouldn't feel ANY guilt at all, about kin or the fact he HOPEFULLY permanently maimed/crippled the uchiha! He used the curse mark, he made the choice so.. It was his own fault... She attacked naruto's group, so she made the choice, so she now has to suffer for the failing! She'd already be dead if naruto had just opened the seal and let the fox take over (seriously she's UPSET over losing an arm, after she was BONEHEADED enough to attack a jinchuriki? -that's kinda dumb-)

Also all of team 7 should be thrown out, they made the choice, they opened the scroll, nobody forced them too (although they PROBABLY would have died in the forest otherwise.. But isn't that KINDA THE POINT?), so they made the choice, now they have to deal with the consequences. (the whole first chapter with what would happen to naruto.. Um NOT IF HE LET THE FOX OUT.. It would have SHATTERED that five-prong seal and then proceeded to EAT all the other gennin) And proceeded to show the world that it's INCREDIBLY STUPID to even enter jinchuriki into these things!

I always thought it was idiotic for naruto OR garaa to be in the exams... You can treat them as bad or NORMAL or even good as you want, but what it ultimately comes down to is they ARE NOT normal, they have never been normal, they will never BE normal. They are by definition MORE then all the others. You just promote them... No stupid exams, they don't apply. They slaughter an army?.. WHAM jounin... They protect the entire team and save the whole mission single-handed at the same time? WHAM chunnin! After all if the person is PUSHED and can go toe-to-toe with the kage? There really isn't a point to the ranking system anymore!

Wait, so you expect naruto/vincent to feel guilty about injuring a HOSTILE nin come to take his life? HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL? So what if his attack blew her arm off? It SHOULD have killed her! That's the NINJA thing to do! Here is a thought... How about "it's her own damn fault for attacking his group"? Ninja life is NOT safe, and there really should be only ONE result of failure... DEATH, well, her team FAILED! Soooooooooo... See the distinction here?

Allowing ANY of team 7 back into the exams is a VERY bad idea for the hokage, to be BLUNT, none of them are worth the FALLOUT should he try to make it happen. (it's the same reason other countries don't kill ambassadors, if they did it would be open season on their own... Here it's the same, if he alters the rules during it FOR ANY REASON *even orochi disrupting them* then the other kages have free reign to do the same for any reason they want!) Team 7 opened the scroll, so THEY ARE OUT (as per the wavers, they already signed)! It doesn't MATTER if there was an s-rank sannin that beat the tar out of them, or two groups of chunin level opponents.. They still, by LETTER OF THE LAW failed!

I noticed how you COMPLETELY swept under the rug EVERYTHING partaining to kin in that conversation with the hokage. What happened? Get caught in a "gridlock"? As far as being "paranoid" vincent/naruto could have just said "I give the village EXACTLY the amount of trust, it gave my old life!" He's seen the dark/dirty/TRUE side of konoha, the hokage is "whistling past the graveyard", in that he doesn't WANT to see it! And as far as "demonslayer"? Demons come in MANY forms... Most are humans(or in this series' case, once WERE) Besides as a part dragon, part incubus, there is GOING to be some collateral human damage, they both gotta know that. (technically, naruto EATING them wouldn't even be cannibalism anymore).
