I'm hedging pretty hard on this one right now. On one hand it starts pretty bloody weak, and in a lot of ways it stays there, but it does pick up a little later on. I think I'm going to give this one another chapter and see if it's going to be a character driven narrative or not. If we get some Derpy/Spike interaction and characterization beyond mediocre sarcastic quips in Derpy's head it could still impress. All in all not a strong start, but it does leave room for a much stronger second chapter. We'll see what happens.
