This story seriously made my mind stop/blank, only I didn't cry but the story had me completely moved. Strange how we meet people in life and how the unlikeliest of people become the best of friends. The part where Itachi is called a monster is very heart wrenching, more so because of his similar beliefs. Such a good person, but victim of circumstances.
I loved the ending, so like Itachi to be patient and waiting for friends, which is clearly shown by Kisame's lack of great surprise. Everytime I read a story with Itachi in it, I cannot help but wonder on the 'what-ifs' and 'whys' of his life. Needless to say this story will permanently be in my mind, and I'll continue to think about it for a long time to come.

Man I'm loving your one shots, and I've always liked the Itachi-Kisame duo so this one hit home.

Wow deep stuff! Ironic a man who killed for no reason and a man who was forced to kill his clan for a reason and they end up friends.

Loved it. I've had this bookmarked for a while now, but I'm bad about leaving reviews-trying to rectify that now as I reread things. Fic featuring 'friendship' between Itachi and Kisame, where Kisame pieces together clues, are one of my absolute favorites. And this was great. Thanks for writing.

This was brilliant. They were both in character and you reflected them perfectly. This is how I would imagine they would be like anyway.

I loved that Itachi talks in his sleep...I wonder if he knows.

I also love that Itachi waited for Kisame and they both walked to the underworld together. Poor Kisame, got eaten by sharks alive. Oh well...

It's really hard to find good Itachi & Kisame stories that doesn't involve yaoi.

So bittersweet. I love Itachi and Kisame fics, their partnership seems odd, but it actually matches perfectly.

I think you managed to recreate how their day by day would have been like and what Kisame must have been thinking then, seeing Itachi as such a young boy with so much life ahead, yet so dead already.
