Binged the whole thing in a day and while you are quite hard on yourself, I found this to be one of, if not the best representation of Wesker/Clair out there. I’ve read everything put out there because I love the duo and dropped many of the longer ones in frustration. Yours came last because of the initial word count and worries of wasted time, however thank god for stumbling on this one last. Seriously, I appreciate the route you’ve taken with their characterizations and detail within the revolving subplots, it’s made for an enjoyable read. Usually I find their smut fun but problematic or cringey but appreciated their encounters in your fic, it felt appropriate, passionate and consensual considering their power dynamic. Also thank you for writing a Clair that is conflicted but not a child, I don’t know why that ends up being such a popular route for her character in so many Wesker/Clair fics, as well as a Wesker that does not become unwound so quickly. Also the cheese banter between Wesker and Clair, while rare, is good! I always Imagine Wesker spouting off dumb lines while remaining cold and stoic for the remainder.

Anyways, I hope once this is finished you consider writing a 2.0 and fleshing it out the way you want, because I can see the improvements in your writing over time, not to mention, It’d probably be easier to sink your teeth into details when you have so much framework already done. Or another Wesker/Clair fic because there just isn’t enough of those 2 in the world, lol.

So far I have loved this story. I like how Wesker is not just instantly soft and cuddly, but still maintains some wesker-ness.

I do have to say that as someone who has been told many times that I will not be able to bear children when my husband and I are ready, it always does get hard for me when pregnancy comes up. I only bring that up because normally I will skip over pregnancy related parts for the most part, so I minimize the risk of tears. When I got to the end of this chapter though I was really confused, despite going back and looking at previous sections. When Claire says, "This place took it from me." I am confused. Did they take/kill the baby, or did they take away Wesker's ability to let her know? Or the choice of keeping it or not?

Otherwise, GREAT story.

Can’t believe I only found this story today! I was initially apprehensive about the wesker/claire pairing; however, this story offers a clever and engaging bridge between RE5 and RE6, which in turn fixes the glaring lack of our favorite 2 female characters and makes all character arcs—from the main cast to new ones like carla—much more compelling.

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes. I was so excited when I saw the new chapter alert in my email inbox. Omg so many things happened in this chapter. Leon finding Jill. Wesker coming back to life. Carla backstabbing Wesker (I'm not surprised). Wesker killing Rex and then rescuing Claire. I'm thrilled. Can't wait for the next chapter.
