Anyway, lovely story! I don't really support Mystrade, but I could handle it here. Which was nice. And the idea of John and Sherlock cuddling as a couple during the Who special... When Fandoms Collide :P
Only one little thing I'd like to bring up. I, being slightly odd, have researched the theoretical family tree of the Holmes brothers. Here's what I know. You might have to change little bits to get the dates right, due to the BBC modernising the show, but I thought I'd tell you anyway.
Sherlock is the youngest son of Siger Holmes and Violet Sherrinford. Violet's mother was the sister of the painter Carle Vernet, who in turn was the son of the painter Claude Vernet. Violet's mother died during the French Revolution (?) by guillotine.
Just thought I'd say. There is also a theory that Mycroft had an older brother named Sherrinford, but this is unlikely a never given any substance that could be used as proof by Conan Doyle.
