There was nothing I didn't love about this fic. I just love this kind of ~slight~ AU, where there is just that little bit of a spin on events that gives the story as we know it a completely different perspective while still being very familiar.

Having said that I think my very favourite bit was "Haribo macht Kinder froh..." (did that used to be a thing in the US?) which I have never heard used in a fic before and which totally made my little German soul rejoice :) (And genuine Haribo Gummi-Bärchen aren't even actually that expensive in Germany :D)

Seriously, it is so well written, and I love the Gaelic between the boys. And the backstory on John was just icing on the cake! Thank you so much for sharing this!

Truly excellent story! The Navajo ancestry was an inspired idea and gave a unique and well thought out slant to the story.
