I found this really enjoyable,ams am glad you managed to finish it in the end (I have some stories hanging around from about 10 years ago which I probably wot finish, so admire that!).
From the title and description I'd expected Naruto and Kakashi to be framed for the murders somehow, but couldn't quite see how it was going to play out! Yuudai, Hawk and Shizune's boyfriend did cross my mind at times, but I was too fixated on trying to figure out how Naruto and or Kakashi would be framed for the murders that I didn't give it that much thought!

You know, I found this story in (roughly) 2012, and followed it off and on ever since, it was actually one of the first stories I found when getting into fanfiction. All things considered, I did think this story was dead.

I’m assuming, based on your note’s at the beginning and ending of every chapter nearing the end, that this will be your final rodeo with fanfiction, and you’ll be done after, so I wanna just say thanks for making this story, genuinely.

It was a big part of my early FF years, and I’m glad that you will be happy moving on after you finish it.

So glad to get the final resolution! This has been one of my fav stories- it's surprisingly hard to find good Naruto&Shikamaru friendship, so thanks for that, as well as some nice plotting and good action scenes. Bravo! I'll have to go back and read the whole thing again.

OMIGOSH YOU'RE BACK, YOU'RE BACK, YOU'RE BACK! I'M SO HAPPY! Oh wow, I have to say I didn't see him as the murderer. I totally was considering your decoys, excellent job on that. I love how you had Naruto and Shikamaru discuss the Kyuubi in the last chapter, with Naruto having that mild panic attack and Shikamaru trying to assure him it's all right. And looking back, the legacy of the Fourth makes so much more sense now! Great job protecting your sensei, Naruto, and for confronting the murderer despite his attempts to "help" you. I'M SO GLAD THIS STORY IS BEING FINISHED! I totally re-read everything and enjoyed every minute of it.

This is remarkably well written, and a very solid mystery to boot. Well done, seriously, this deserves more reviews. Everyone was written perfectly in character, and the cast was varied and interesting. I enjoyed this story immensely, thank you for continuing it, I really appreciate it.

It is so awesome that you came back and finished this story! It is one of my all time favourites, and I would think of if longingly every so often, hoping that you'd be back and tell me just who the murderer was. I had no idea who the murderer was. lol I read right to the end of this chapter with bated breath, hoping that Kakashi would be all right, hoping that the name of the bad guy would be exposed. Thanks so much!
The way you wrote the whole hospital scene was amazing! It left us all on the edge, questioning whether Kakashi died, and then to have him use the Mangekyo Sharingan to get them both out of there was a stroke of genius.
Can't wait to read your epilogue.

Holy cow this story. I never much got into fanfic for the naruto fandom, but lately I had a nag in the back of my mind so I decided to search and was looking for work that centered on some of my favorite characters, (Naruto, Shikamaru, etc) and low and behold here we are. I binge read this wonderful work knowing it wasn't finished yet and I can't even be mad. This was a wonderful read and even if it takes a few more years, I look forward to seeing how this wraps up.
