This was honestly my favorite chapter of the ones I have read so far. And that twist at the end- amazing.

Dragonriderss of Pern, I don't remember the exact title, but it is the book where the Pern expedition arrives at and settle on the planet..

I am thoroughly enjoying this story. I love the nod to one of my favorite authors, Anne McCaffrey and her wonderful dragonriders series. The characters are from her book Dragonsdawn, I think.

Good, you got rid of Snape.
I still believe he shouldn't have been involved in the new ward schema for Hogwarts, oh well...

Question:
Wouldn't Snape be the wrong person to have in such a situation of secrecy for Wards on Hogwarts?
The man can't even differentiate between Harry and his father in his twisted, revenge goals towards Harry.
Plus wouldn't his Dark Mark be a contaminating influence even if it's just him adding power to fuel new wards?

This is such a brilliant story, so full of original ideas. I think i've probably read all the really good HP stories as I've been immersed for several years now and was beginning to think I'd either have to give up or re-read from the beginning, but your story has been such a great find! Thanks so much for sharing. I've enjoyed a lot of your shorter stories too.

Fun story...a great 'what might have been'. I like several of the ideas in here...the wand being such an influence, for example. Anyway, it was a very enjoyable read, thanks for posting!

As you say in your summary, that's the way things should have gone, had everyone been acting in the best interests of the students. Of course, everything was helped along by the wisdom of Samuel - who was not afraid to speak the truth and take the necessary actions - and the destruyof the Elder wand. Albus's brain clearing enabled him to actually become the person he had tried to make people think he was for so many years.

I truly enjoyed your story. Thanks for an upbeat one. I needed it.

Uh-oh. I wonder who the portrait is. If it is hearing Parseltongue, then it must be Slytherin. Is he going to let Riddle in on the new way of doing things? Is Riddle going to sic the Basilisk on the school? Will it refuse to kill or petrify anyone?
