I've been reading all these vignettes and I had to review. Mara is my favorite Star Wars character and your stories capture her perfectly while providing intriguing backstory. I love how complexly you portray her- as obedient and temperamental, prideful yet full of doubt, amazingly competent and yet sometimes overworked or overly trusting. I also think you have very good insight into how evil (an evil person or organization or just "evil" in the abstract) can cut a person down or teach someone to hate. You even had me fooled for a moment with palpatine's speech about how Mara is inferior in the force, until I remembered that her force powers in the EU work just fine! This chapter right be my favorite, with all the strong shifts in emotion and the various interlocking symbolism of the elements and the aspiration to get away.

Will this be continued?

Why does Sidious need to hide his face still if everyone knows he and Palpatine are the same person?

Wow.
I just read all fifteen chapters and this was AMAZING! Mara's training was brutal, and she was younger than I would have thought, but still...wow. I can actually imagine all of these scenes happening. Mara seems incredibly good for a girl of her age and species, but then, the Emperor would hardly chose her if she was merely average. I wonder what would have happened to her had she not been discovered.
Shame on Sidious for making her believe that she was not strong in the Force! She was very strong, and far better than he made her believe. But, I suppose, if saying this made her a better and more eager student...
Once again, I must say wow.

I love how her nightmare ties to what we know is coming soon, and her reaction of trying to rationalize everything. Especially love how the first part is almost misleading in the "yellow eyes" which are actually suns. Great job!

Hm I like it! At first i thought this was after palpatine's death, and the nightmare was the recurring one she'd had later, but it seems like she's having visions of Luke in tatooine? A premonition perhaps? Or some gothic romantic connection? Lol. Please update more, can't wait to see what you'd make of mara's life post-rotj till she meets karrde.
