letjosieliv chapter 1 . 2/24/2014 Ah the feels this is beautiful! I had actually read this years ago but I decided to reread it cause I wanted a good story with tons of feels. And I absolutely love LongshotxTyLee I never would have thought about it before but after reading your story I can't ship it hard enough! |
Avatarlover123 chapter 1 . 2/3/2014 that was so cute i loved , this story , amazing writing , i definitely ship them !:D |
FullMentalPanic chapter 1 . 3/16/2013 I really liked how you filled in Longshot's backstory with him unwittingly joining the Yu-yan archers and building on his natural skill that way. Very good job in how you portrayed those archers too and keeping them really enigmatic and seemingly benign for a long time. The progression of the relationship between Ty Lee and Longshot moved along engagingly and you did a good job incorporating all the elements that are hinted at in the show. |
Kirawr chapter 1 . 11/21/2012 Awh, that was lovely! I made my own wee Tokka fan fic, and in the first scene, I threw in a mention of Ty Lee and Longshot being together, then today I thought I would look to see if anyone else had thought of it, thank you for such a sweet read! :3 |
Shadow'sAngel818 chapter 1 . 8/11/2012 Awww! He married Ty Lee at the end. Awesome story, I liked how you switched between their points of view throughout it. Also enjoyed the fact that you put in a small epilogue. Can't wait to read your other stories. |
RomanticCreator chapter 1 . 7/11/2012 I like this ship :) its so "out there" but its nice :) loved it 3 |
azure blue espeon chapter 1 . 7/9/2012 Aww that was cute. Most fic's you see with Longshot are ones that are mainly with smellerbee. Its good to see a change of pace. |
Carolnuts chapter 1 . 5/25/2012 when I started reading this I thought ,"wtf, longshot and ty Lee? together? " and now I'm about to cry. thank you |
OutAndOdder chapter 1 . 1/22/2012 Hey, just wanted to tell you you're awesome. Nice pairing, never saw that coming. Good work with the details, very well thought out. |
Chester chapter 1 . 1/20/2012 Wow, I'm impressed. I always appreciate a fanfic that could have truly happened in the storyline. It also gives great insight into the pasts of at least one of my favorite characters, (not Ty-Lee). It seems a little unlikely that they would share a life together and Longshot would essentially abandon Smellerbee, but still, you put on an amazing show, and I can't wait to read more stories like these. Keep writing, you're actually really good :) |
fanficchica123 chapter 1 . 12/20/2011 such a cute story! i loved it and i love the fact that its longshot and ty lee together. they balance each other out so they're perfect for each other. awesome job! :D |
TheWonderfulShoe chapter 1 . 12/18/2011 I loved this! To be honest...it never would have occurred to me. But it seems very reasonable, how you wrote it! They seemed to be fairly IC, also, despite how a lot of these characters' backgrounds weren't developed much in the series. It was well-written, too, though some parts at the end seemed disjointed, and on occasion it was hard to tell whether the split segments were supposed to happen immediately subsequently or after some time. Thank you for writing. You seem to really enjoy it. I hope you continue writing and expanding your skill and style. |
RaphaelsLittleSister chapter 1 . 12/18/2011 I gotta say, this was a pairing I;ve never seen before, but I do really like. It's cute, without being eww. Eww as in, I'm going to die, it's too sweet. I relly liked it, and I liked that you're idea of what happened after Lake Laogai was beleivable. I really did wonder what happened to Longshot and Smellerbee after Jet died. Overall, nice story. |
JackieStarSister chapter 1 . 12/12/2011 I don't think I've ever seen anyone do this pairing before. I didn't know what to expect, but the way you wrote about them, Ty Lee and Longshot actually have chemistry. I liked how you showed both characters' thoughts for the first scene. You do a really good job narrating their thoughts and showing how they observe each other, how they figure out the other's personality. Near the end of the first scene, you say "he had since" twice. At the start of the third scene, you say "her arm" when I think you meant "his arm." "Exasperation" doesn't have an H in it. "I used to think that the war was justified, and right. But now? How can I, when I see all the suffering it has inflicted?" I didn't really like that line. My impression from the series was that Ty Lee doesn't really bother herself with the politics of the war, that she's just fighting for her country, which in principle seems like the right thing to do. In the series she seems naive to all the suffering the war causes. And she hasn't seen much suffering in this story, either. Overall, I really like this story. Good job. Keep writing! |
OmniSchreiber chapter 1 . 12/12/2011 This is a well-made story. It's nice to see someone going out on a limb and working with secondary or tertiary characters. You developed Ty Lee's and Longshot's backgrounds nicely, based on what was hinted at in canon. You also kept the characters very much IC (Longshot gives the writer a lot more license, since his behavior is relatively flat canon-wise). It's a pairing with no real basis, but nothing that says it couldn't happen either, and the scenario of them ending up in prison together actually works pretty well (we have no idea what happens to Longshot after Season 2). You set a premise, build on it properly, and execute it with a flourish. I was, however, a little confused about the prison barge, Mai's apparent freedom, and the timescale. I mean, a barge is plausible, but how does Mai get them food, and why would she be out of prison before the end of the war? One could argue she would get preferential treatment in the Boiling Rock via her uncle, but you've clearly established this is on a barge, and we know the Kyoshi Warriors (aside from Suki) weren't at the BR anyway. Just some minor inconsistencies. Overall, the story was compelling and sweet (without being disgustingly so). Nicely done. |
