Wow that was amazing!

Been awhile since I've left a review for a story on fanfiction and even longer since I've read some of your previous stuff, but this was certainly worth checking up on.

The tone throughout was right on the money for the fantasy adventure/hunting of the beast route you had going. Luna isn't overly brooding as she is actively seeking to work around those little hang ups, which in itself is a marvelous change up from most Luna redemption fics, and to a degree makes it work that much better with the team she builds up to deal with the conflict. What was relevant was touched on, even for some of the others pasts enough to identify with the characters yet stay out of the rut that could drag them down. A fine balance.

A few things that could have been worked on or discarded was mentioning how old some ponies were or placing them in a arbitrary timeline. Some such as the librarian Litty felt more played off as a joke but got awkward as she genuinely knew Luna and her parents pre-thousand-year-banishment. Same for Athena as it was mentioned being the pony to replace Luna at Celestia's side. Think it would have worked if you were modifying the time line more realistically and that Luna had been banished for maybe only one hundred years, no where was it stated in story how long Luna's banishment had been so I'm assuming this isn't following canon which is fine but made the back story time line a bit wonky in how some characters fit in some descriptions.

Overall a good read and despite having been written quite early in the fandom, still holds very well to what I search for in a MLP story.

I love this! It is simply the best! And trust me I know a good fic when I see it! I've written several, and read more of them than I can count!

I laughed at how the malum kept being up Derpy and yet she kept getting back up.

It's not really surprising that Celestia and the main six showed up after the fight

Amazing how even though Luna had come to help them Athena was still acting so incredibly arrogant.

Something is really weird about Celestia taking the elements with her to assist with the development of the new settlement.
